Huge congratulations to Cache Valley’s Conner Mantz, who just shattered the U.S. marathon record in Chicago with a time of 2:04:43! 🇺🇸🔥

How elite was Conner’s performance?

Of the ~700 million Americans who’ve ever lived, only one has ever run 26.2 miles faster than two hours and five minutes. One.

Imagine filling Maverik Stadium to capacity, every seat and every row, then lining sold-out Maverik Stadiums end to end from Logan, Utah, all the way to Bangor, Maine, and back again to Chicago. Only one seat in all those stadiums belongs to Conner Mantz and what he just did.

⚡Just how fast was he, really?
Conner’s average pace was 4 minutes 45.6 seconds per mile—12.6 mph, faster than most treadmills can even reach.

To put that in perspective, Conner clocked a football-field sprint, end zone to end zone, in just 16.2 seconds. Except he pulled that off 460 football fields in a row.
