Dr. Ackerman with the big reveal ... we're now FIA!

Building on 35 years of support, science and community, this name reflects who we are and where we are headed. Still here for families experiencing loss, still focused on awareness and saving lives, and more committed than ever to the research and partnerships that make thriving possible.

Because at the heart of everything we do is the same promise: when you come to us at a frightening moment, we offer hope, direction, and community so you feel less alone and more in control. ❤️

Today it's official: SADS is now FIA, the Foundation for Inherited Arrhythmias, and alongside the new name, we've launched a new home online at fiacardiac.org. 🥳❤️🧬🎉

Our new name represents the full spectrum of people’s experiences living with these conditions. Our story began with families who lost a loved one, and our commitment to support these families and save lives before another tragedy strikes will always be central to our Foundation. Thanks to scientific advancements, these conditions are also increasingly treatable and a growing portion of our community are able to live and thrive beyond their diagnosis. Whatever chapter you’re in, that’s the story we want you to see reflected here.

Our new website reflects all of this too. It’s easier to navigate and full of resources by gene and condition, guidance for newly diagnosed families, ways to connect with others who understand, and more. Take a look at fiacardiac.org.

P.S. This new name exists because of you. It came from years of conversations, feedback, and honest input from families and clinicians across our community. Keep sharing your thoughts - they will shape where we go next!

FIA supports families, educates healthcare professionals, and advances research and care for people affected by inherited heart rhythm conditions.
