For years, the unwritten rule of early intervention was "more is always better." But modern clinical conversations are shifting toward a more nuanced, whole-child approach.

While intensive services are absolutely appropriate and necessary for some learners, maximizing hours shouldn't be the default for everyone. Shorter, highly focused, and naturalistic sessions can be incredibly effective—while still leaving room for the things that make a child a child.

Naps, family dinners, unstructured play, and rest are not "empty time" or barriers to progress. They are part of progress. 🤍
