If you've never had craniosacral therapy, it's a hard thing to picture, and honestly, that's the most common reason people put off trying it.
Here's the short version: The contact is extremely light, often just a few grams of pressure. There are long stretches of stillness. You stay fully clothed the whole time. And rather than working out muscle tension, the work helps a nervous system that's stuck in stress or guarding finally settle down.
Most people leave calm, loose, and slowed down, and often sleep better that night. Some feel warmth or tingling, some feel emotional shifts, and a lot of people simply fall asleep on the table.
I wrote a first-timer's guide that walks through the whole experience, start to finish, including when it's better to wait and get your doctor's clearance first, like right after a head injury. If you've been curious, this will tell you what to expect.
