Therapy?!? For what?!?
Sometimes healing gets complicated because families don't always agree on what happened growing up.
And honestly, that's OK.
Two people can live through the same experience and walk away with very different stories.
That's one of the reasons therapy can be such a safe place to land.
You don't have to convince anyone.
You don't have to debate your feelings.
You don't have to gather evidence for your emotions to be valid.
You simply get a space to explore your experience without judgment, expectations, or unsolicited advice from a family member you see once a year.
As a therapist, trust me when I say this, I have family members who don't believe in therapy either. And that's OK.
And whether someone believes in therapy, it has absolutely nothing to do with your right to heal.
Your healing journey doesn't require a vote.
It doesn't require permission.
And it certainly doesn't require unanimous family approval.
It just requires you deciding that your story, your growth, and your peace matter.
If the world feels LOUD and nobody seems to get it, therapy can be a place where you don't have to explain why you're hurting before you're allowed to heal.
