Therapy?!? For what?!?

Sometimes healing gets complicated because families don't always agree on what happened growing up.

And honestly, that's OK.

Two people can live through the same experience and walk away with very different stories.

That's one of the reasons therapy can be such a safe place to land.

You don't have to convince anyone.
You don't have to debate your feelings.
You don't have to gather evidence for your emotions to be valid.

You simply get a space to explore your experience without judgment, expectations, or unsolicited advice from a family member you see once a year.

As a therapist, trust me when I say this, I have family members who don't believe in therapy either. And that's OK.

And whether someone believes in therapy, it has absolutely nothing to do with your right to heal.

Your healing journey doesn't require a vote.
It doesn't require permission.
And it certainly doesn't require unanimous family approval.

It just requires you deciding that your story, your growth, and your peace matter.

If the world feels LOUD and nobody seems to get it, therapy can be a place where you don't have to explain why you're hurting before you're allowed to heal.

What is something that you wish people understood about healing? Drop it in the comment. And if you like what you see here like, comment, follow, and share.

Therapy is one place where nobody needs anything from you!!!

In a world that profits from your business and your worth seems based on your productivity, therapy isn't something you just pay for-it's a beautiful RELATIONSHIP and a safe place to land, a place to slow down, and a place to be seen and heard. A safe relationship that stays steady even when life doesn't. AND when the world feels heavy, know that you don't have to carry it alone.

Come sit with me so that I can carry some of your load. 🔗 in Bio

If you can’t already tell, working with teens means I stay pretty tuned in to their ever-evolving language, culture, and world. (And yes, I’m constantly learning new phrases. 😅)

Behind every teen session is something I hold deeply sacred: creating a space where young people feel safe enough to be themselves, share honestly, and explore the things that are weighing on them. That trust matters.

One of the most important parts of therapy is confidentiality. Teens need room to process, grow, and find their voice in a space that protects their privacy while still supporting healthy family relationships. It’s a delicate balance, and one I approach with great care.

Working with adolescents is an ever-changing landscape, and I genuinely love meeting them where they are. Whether they’re navigating anxiety, friendships, family dynamics, identity, school stress, or simply trying to figure out who they are, they deserve to feel heard and understood.

If you’re a parent or teen looking for a therapist who values connection, safety, authenticity, and understands teen culture beyond the stereotypes, I’d love to help.

Here’s the thing: I genuinely love hearing people’s stories-all of 'em!

The unfiltered ones. The messy ones. The “I’ve never told anyone this before” ones. The s*x, the relationships, the family drama, the questionable life choices, the existential crises, and the random thoughts that somehow turn into the most important conversation of the week.

Around here, there’s not much that’s considered TMI.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel like sitting across from a human clipboard. Sometimes we laugh. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we do both in the same five minutes.

If you’re looking for a therapist who’s human, keeps it real, and can handle just about anything you bring into the room, I’m accepting clients across Texas.

Hit the link in my bio to get started.

And if this is your vibe, like, follow, and share.

🏃🏻‍♀️ Came out here to outrun a bad mood. Accidentally caught a runner’s high instead. 🤘

Funny how our brains can be absolute bullies at 6 p.m. and a motivational speaker a few miles later.

Not saying movement fixes everything, but I’ve yet to finish a run and think, “You know what? I should definitely stay annoyed about that.”

Whether it’s running, fishing, dancing in the kitchen, a long drive, or just disappearing into your favorite corner of the world for a moment... find the thing that helps you get the wiggles out.

The world is LOUD. Move your body. Touch grass. Go be by the water. Find your safe place. Get the wiggles out.

Today’s therapy session was sponsored by endorphins, stubbornness, and the Twin Buttes. 🏃‍♀️🔥

🌾 Small Towns, Big Hearts, Healthy Boundaries 🫀

One of the beautiful things about living in a rural community is that we’re all connected. We see each other at the grocery store, local events, school functions, church, ball games, and coffee shops. That’s part of what makes our communities special.🫶🏼

Because of that, many people wonder:

“What happens if I see my therapist in public?”

Protecting your privacy is one of our highest priorities. Professional ethics, confidentiality laws, and healthcare privacy standards require that your therapist not acknowledge you first in public settings. This isn’t because we’re being unfriendly or avoiding you!!! it is BECAUSE your therapist is committed to protecting your confidentiality and allowing you complete control over your personal health information.

If we cross paths in town, your therapist may simply continue about their day without greeting you. This helps ensure that no one around you makes assumptions about your relationship or your healthcare.

However, you are ALWAYS WELCOME to say hello first. If you choose to approach your therapist, you are making the decision to disclose the relationship on YOUR terms. Your therapist will gladly follow your lead while remaining mindful of your privacy and comfort.

In Texas, behavioral health professionals are guided by ethical standards that emphasize maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and avoiding situations that could compromise a client’s welfare, confidentiality, or trust in the therapeutic relationship.

In a close-knit west Texas community, healthy boundaries aren’t about distance, they’re about respect. 🎤🫳🏼

They’re one way we honor your healing, your privacy, and your right to choose when, where, and with whom you share your story.

Trust and believe as your therapist we are ALWAYS happy to see you. We simply want YOU to be the one who decides whether others know how we know each other.

🧠 "You don’t look autistic"

Few statements invalidate an autistic person’s experience than that.

Autism doesn’t have a look. It doesn’t disappear because someone has a degree, a career, a marriage, or children.

Research suggests that autism may present differently across individuals, and many autistic women and girls are especially skilled at masking or camouflaging their differences in social settings. This can contribute to delayed recognition and diagnosis.

And perhaps the most important reminder:

If you’ve met one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism.

There is no single autistic experience.
There is no “autistic look.”
There is no success level that disqualifies someone from being autistic.

What people need isn’t skepticism.
What people need is understanding.

Follow for evidence-based mental health content on autism, neurodiversity, relationships, and therapy.

✨ Today I completed my 250th Pilates class at Club Pilates! ✨

As a therapist, I often talk with clients about self care, boundaries, and prioritizing themselves AND I know firsthand that it’s not always easy. Making time for yourself can feel like a hard sell when life is busy and everyone else seems to need something from you.

AND I’ve learned that how we START our day matters. When we INVEST in ourselves first, we set the tone for healthier boundaries, greater self love, and a stronger connection to our minds and bodies. What we put into our bodies, how we move them, and how we care for them impacts how we feel throughout the day and week.

I cannot say enough about starting the day with you. Whether it’s Pilates, a walk around the block, stretching, yoga, or a dance party in the kitchen while making dinner! find a way to MOVE that feels good and make it count.

Small, consistent acts of self care add up. Today I’m celebrating 250 classes, and more importantly, I’m celebrating the decision to keep showing up for ME.

ps-grateful as HECK for my Pilates family-you all are my church. ⛪️ ☮️🫀
