🍂 Please help us welcome Veronica, our Fall Practicum Counselor-in-Training! 🍂

We are excited to welcome Veronica to the Revelation Counseling Services team as she begins her fall practicum and takes the next step in her journey toward becoming a professional counselor.

Veronica brings a unique combination of psychology training, bilingual communication, faith, and nearly two decades of experience in the medical field. Throughout her career at UT Health Science Center-San Antonio, she has worked closely with individuals navigating significant health concerns, surgical procedures, reconstructive surgery, financial stressors, and the uncertainty that can accompany major medical decisions. Along the way, she has learned the importance of offering something that isn’t found on a medical chart: a compassionate and comforting presence when people are facing vulnerable moments.

A graduate student at Colorado Christian University pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling, Veronica is passionate about providing holistic support that honors the connection between emotional, relational, cultural, and spiritual well-being.

Nicole brings a unique combination of heart, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit to Revelation Counseling Services. As a bilingual clinician, she is passionate about serving teens, young adults, and immigrant communities, providing culturally responsive care that helps clients feel seen, heard, and understood.

Before beginning her clinical career, Nicole was already making an impact as the owner and creative force behind Good Ivy Good Ivy Digital Print & Design. In fact, if you’ve admired our refreshed branding, updated website, or visual identity over the past year, you’ve already experienced her incredible talent. Her creativity has helped tell our story, and we’re so grateful for the vision she brought to Revelation Counseling Services.

Now, Nicole is embracing an exciting new season. While she builds her clinical hours with our practice, she is also growing Good Ivy Wellness- Good Ivy Wellness where her passion for supporting other mental health professionals continues to flourish. Her mission extends beyond the therapy room by helping rising private practice owners build authentic brands, beautiful websites, and meaningful platforms that reflect the heart behind their work.

A huge congratulations to our very first graduate of the season! 🎓
Today we celebrate an incredible milestone as Nicole Merchán has officially earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University!

Nicole has dedicated herself to this journey with compassion, perseverance, and a genuine heart for serving others. We have had the privilege of watching her grow throughout her internship, and we couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead.

This fall, pending approval of her state licensure, Nicole will officially join the Revelation Counseling Services family as an LPC-Associate, where she will continue providing hope, healing, and culturally responsive care to our community.

After a brief period of “field research” across Texas, Gracie has reportedly decided to join Revelation Counseling Services as our newest Support Giraffe Intern.

With her unique perspective and ability to see things from a higher vantage point, Gracie will be assisting in the following areas:

As someone who literally spends her life stretching, Gracie is passionate about personal growth.

Y’all… I’m so humbled. I don’t dare take full credit for what has unfolded in the past seven years. Honestly, I could never dream this up - after all, it’s so contrary to my nature. In my experience, faith has played a pivotal role. It has taken me beyond my comfort zone and stretched me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. But may I remind you, it’s okay to be uncomfortable. Without it, growth is not possible!

I’m pleased to share that impact is not just what we can do in the therapy room, but we are exponentially touching families who get to experience hope, grace, and lasting transformation.

I’m blessed to be surrounded by such a powerful team that reminds me of the power of mentorship. As I mentor graduate interns and supervise newly licensed clinicians, I continue to seek guidance myself, realizing that you’re never too seasoned to learn and receive guidance.

Not being too full of myself has come in handy also. As a teen, I was being vetted for an AFS Intercultural Programs foreign exchange scholarship. I recall my big sisters describe me as easy-going and resilient. That scholarship provided a life-changing experience that sent me to Turkey. Not knowing the language, I combined Spanish, very broken French, and English when needed and quickly learned bits of Turkish with enough phrases to get me out of a pinch that summer. Asking for help is ok.

Seeking mentors didn’t end in high school. Today I have key people in my life that I go to for guidance in my spiritual, personal, and professional life. From my high school Upward Bound mentor Jacqueline Dansby, Ph.D. to Dr. Patricia Adams of Zeitgeist Wellness Group, my business mentor and so many more.

I’m an example of what life-long learning looks like. I was never the smartest in class, on the contrary, I often finished last and I definitely marched to the beat of my own drum. I drove my mother nuts, with notes from teachers that repeatedly informed her of my struggles to complete my work on time or being a chatterbox that at times distracted others. Daddy offered her consolation by explaining to her that my constant curiosity was not something to be frustrated about, rather it was out of a genuine interest in understanding the world around me. Thankfully, I heard him reframing those messages throughout my childhood because now that same curiosity helps me understand people facing their own struggles.

Words cannot fully express how full my heart is, that while my personal challenges seem to hold me down at times, these experiences enhance my clinical training to help rising clinicians become the best at what they do.

I’m an example that it’s never too late to change course. Like many of you, fear is something I’ve faced all my life, however I refuse to let it dominate me. My faith is strengthened when I see transformation at work, not only in my life, but in the lives of the people under my direction and care.

I’m eternally grateful to all those who have inspired me along the way.

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Lauren! 🌟

Please join us in welcoming Lauren Leos, our Administrative Intern for the summer!

Lauren is a senior at Texas A&M University-College Station who is on track to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology this December. She plans to continue her education by pursuing a graduate degree in counseling, and we are excited to be a small part of her professional journey.

This summer, Lauren will be supporting our team behind the scenes through administrative services that help keep our practice running smoothly. When she’s not studying or working, Lauren loves going for runs, which she finds both challenging and therapeutic. She also enjoys listening to music, which always brings her joy. In her free time, Lauren finds comfort in spending quality time with her family and friends, whether that’s playing games, working out, watching a show or movie, or simply being together. Connecting with others through community outings and Bible study is where she finds encouragement, purpose, and peace.

🌟 Welcome, Noemi “Emi” Velez! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome Noemi “Emi” Velez to Revelation Counseling Services as a bilingual Graduate Counseling Intern from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Emi brings 12 years of experience in education, serving students from 3rd grade through high school, as well as experience supporting both students and veterans as a Student Employment Manager. She has also worked closely with neurodivergent children and parents, helping families navigate unique strengths and challenges.

When she’s not studying or working, Emi enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, baking, working out, and exploring creative outlets such as photography, scrapbooking, and fashion design. Her furbabies hold a special place in her heart and are an important part of her family.
