Think tethered cord syndrome only affects children? Think again. 🤔

"Tethered cord syndrome is often associated with young children, but it can also affect teens and adults," says Dr. Izabela Taraciewicz.

This condition occurs when the spinal cord is attached to the spinal column instead of moving freely. Symptoms can be subtle. In babies, watch for an unusual dimple or birthmark on the lower back. Delayed toilet training, back pain, and leg pain may also be signs.

If you notice these signs in yourself or your child, talk with your healthcare provider. Early evaluation can help identify the cause and guide next steps.
