One of the most beautiful events we cover all year with Vanderbilt Sports Medicine.

Steeplechase coverage is logistically unlike almost anything else in sports medicine — caring for both human and equine athletes across a course you can’t even fully see at one time. Jockeys have to be medically cleared after every fall, communication is a must as it's a large area.

Safe day for all involved, which is always the goal.

Networking at conferences is so important and a few tips can make it so much easier.

Its not about impressing people it's about getting to know them... the same as any relationship.

No one really teaches you how to do conferences. It's not about going to every session and taking notes. Be intentional about what you are attending and make sure you talk to people. Having a plan helps.

If there’s one thing I see young, active people worry about most after a clot/PE, it’s this: “Will I ever feel normal again?”

Christian Barmore (DT, Patriots) and Kenneth Walker III (RB, Seahawks) are two reminders that recovery can be real—and performance can come back, too.

I’m not a hematologist, but as a clot survivor myself, I see this question every single day in blood-clot content online. I hope people find stories like these—because the ones doing well usually aren’t the ones posting in message boards.

If you were outraged by USA Gymnastics / Larry Nassar, Penn State University, or any institution that protected harm to children—keep that same energy here.

This isn’t a legal accusation. It’s a moral boundary: I don’t support medical influencers whose documented associations raise serious concerns about judgment around people who victimized minors. Medicine runs on trust.

And on the science side: the best longevity advice is boring. The expensive “optimization” culture is just the Fountain of Youth with better branding.

Support survivors. Don’t fund the ecosystem around the abusers.
