SoulMend Therapy is officially licensed to provide therapy services in .

For military and Special Operations families, finding a therapist who understands the realities of this life can be one of the hardest parts of asking for help. You shouldn’t have to spend the first several sessions explaining the culture before you can begin talking about what brought you there.

SoulMend brings thousands of hours of experience working alongside the Special Operations community, with an understanding of the unique pressures that service, transition, marriage, parenting, trauma and life after the military can carry.

Now, that support is available to clients across Montana.

Summer is nearly over, and there’s something about the change of seasons that invites us to check in with ourselves. So, who are you becoming in this next season?

If you journal, great. Here’s your prompt.
If you’re a mantra person, let this be your line for the day.
And if you wake up and doom scroll, start here instead. Check in, read the prompt, and let your mind wander for a minute.

You don’t have to write anything down or come up with the perfect answer. Just notice what comes up.

A few questions to take with you:
What parts of myself have grown stronger over the years?
What parts of myself have I neglected or lost sight of?
What experiences have most shaped who I am today?
What kind of person do I hope to become moving forward?

You don’t have to have yourself figured out, sometimes it’s enough to notice who you’ve been, where you are, and who you might be becoming.

When we launched the first Holding Space cohort, we hoped it would resonate - The response has been overwhelming!

Because of that, we're opening a second cohort beginning Sunday, August 23, meeting weekly from 6:00–7:30 PM CST for 12 weeks.

Holding Space offers:

✓ Practical tools
✓ Real connection
✓ A confidential, supportive community

This is a place to have honest conversations with people who understand the realities of Special Operations life and to walk away with tools you can actually use.

The program is facilitated by Nicole Heath, LPC, who has spent over 9,300 hours supporting active-duty service members, veterans, and Special Operations families.

If you've been considering joining but missed the first opportunity, we'd love to have you with us.

Space is intentionally limited to protect the quality and trust of the group. Apply here: https://forms.gle/8JWQjp1mddTtRwMg6

You spend so much time holding space for everyone else. What if someone held space for you?
Holding Space is a 12-week guided support program created specifically for Special Operations Forces spouses. Through practical tools, meaningful conversation, and connection with others who understand this unique life, you'll find a place to be seen, supported, and heard.
Our next cohort begins in August, and space is intentionally limited to create a confidential, high-trust experience.
If you've been waiting for a sign to invest in yourself, this is it. Interested in learning more? Complete the brief interest form below and we'll send additional program details, cohort information, and next steps. https://forms.gle/xZsLyDysonSjg9M19

SOF spouses carry more than most people will ever see.
The long nights.
The unpredictability.
The constant shifting between strength, survival, parenting, partnership, and holding everything together while the world keeps moving.

What we have created has one purpose: to provide a place where spouses feel seen, supported, understood, and connected without judgment, pressure, or the expectation to carry it all alone.
Because support matters.
Connection matters.
And the people holding everyone else together deserve support too.

Stay tuned

Little kids have big emotions and parents are carrying a lot too.
In hard moments, kids don’t need perfection. They need safety, steadiness, and connection.
A pause, calm voice, a boundary held with love but most importantly, a parent willing to repair after the storm.
Emotional regulation isn’t taught in one conversation. It’s built slowly, through repeated moments of feeling seen, safe, and supported.

Your presence matters more than your perfection.

Behind every uniform is more than just service; there’s sacrifice that extends far beyond the individual.

For veterans and active-duty spouses, the psychological and emotional weight can be immense, often carried in silence. It’s the anxiety during deployments, the constant adapting to change, the loneliness of holding down a home alone, and the quiet resilience it takes to keep going when routines are uprooted again and again.

It’s loving someone whose duty may place them in harm’s way and learning to live with that uncertainty every single day.

For veterans, the transition home isn’t always a return to “normal.” The experiences they carry don’t simply fade, and for their spouses, that journey is shared navigating trauma, rebuilding connection, and finding stability together in unfamiliar emotional terrain.

Strength in this life isn’t loud. It’s found in the small, unseen moments:
– Holding space for each other on the hardest days
– Showing up when it feels impossible
– Choosing love through distance, change, and healing

"To the spouses and partners, your service is real. Your sacrifices matter. And your story deserves to be seen and heard."- SoulMend Therapy

I want to take a moment to honor those whose strength is so often overlooked, the spouses who stand beside our veterans and active-duty service members, long after the visible battles are over.

To those loving someone living with PTSD, moral injury, depression, or unseen wounds: your strength is profound. You face the restless nights, the emotional highs and lows, the silent battles, and the weight of moments others may never fully grasp. You create space for healing, even when it means putting your own needs on hold.

Your sacrifices may not be recognized with medals or public praise, but they are deeply meaningful and undeniably brave. You are steady in chaos, a source of comfort, and a light in the darkest moments.

And in all that you give, remember being strong doesn’t mean doing it all alone. Your well-being matters. Your voice deserves to be heard. Your healing is important too.

Thank you for your patience, your courage, and your steadfast love. You are seen. You are valued. You are not alone.

Many patterns we see in adulthood (especially in high-performing environments like the military) don’t start there.

Early experiences shape how the nervous system responds to stress, threat, and control. What once served as protection can later show up as difficulty with emotional regulation, connection, or feeling safe outside of structure.

Understanding where these patterns began is not about blame, it’s about clarity.

And with clarity comes the ability to change.

Sustainable well-being is developed through intentional practices:
regulating the nervous system, maintaining supportive relationships, setting boundaries, and engaging in reflective work.

Progress is incremental...and that’s expected. - Nicole Heath
