Thank you for your interest in midwifery and birth options in the San Antonio area.
San Antonio Birth Center closed its doors in June of 2021, San Antonio Birth Services continued to provide care for home birthing families through 2022.
Many of the wonderful midwives who served with SABC have opened practices of their own and continue to provide excellent care for south Texas families.

Our dear friend, Melanie Sandoval, a local birth worker, Rooted Birth doula, and devoted mother is currently facing a very challenging life event. Melanie is an incredible mother of two sweet children under 5 years old and is currently 18 weeks pregnant. After the sudden onset of headaches and vision loss, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor on 11/29/22. As Melanie is pregnant, options for diagnostic modalities and treatment are limited. We are focused on reducing her physical pain and emotional burden, while ensuring she is able to navigate the duration of her pregnancy safely. We hope to wrap Melanie and her family in prayer, love, and support. We kindly ask our friends, family, and community members to consider Melanie’s tough circumstances, especially with the holiday season right around the corner. Please consider donating to Melanie via ⭐️⭐️Venmo at last 4 3435⭐️⭐️ or GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-melaine-sandoval?fbclid=PAAaapC2nhE6Nze1WTX0bqK6QGl1MPNrL_Xu-E9_a0PdkIhfGEhEJpdzqbVOs

Any generous contributions will go directly towards childcare during her hospital stay, medical expenses incurred, and household expenses…since both she and her partner are unable to currently work. Prayers, kind words, and acts of service are also welcomed! Feel free to share your love and well wishes in the comments 💜

Of course this is shared with permission.

It is with mixed feelings that we announce that the San Antonio Birth Center and San Antonio Birth Services are no longer accepting clients.

Many of the midwives who made the San Antonio Birth Center such an amazing experience for birthing families are still providing excellent care in the community. If you are interested in exploring your options for a homebirth; please reach out to Tracy Edwards at tracythemidwife.com, Heather Randolph, Naomi Thomas and Jess Gregory at livingwaterbirth.com, Amber Gaddy at lunarmidwifery.com, and Monica Barrientes (find her on Facebook).

Alisa Voss Godfrey has records for all San Antonio Birth Center clients (babies born before July 2021) and I, Cindy Lockhart, have records for San Antonio Birth Services (July 2021- August 2022).

I am taking time to catch my breath and focus on my family. I don't yet know where I'll land or what the future holds. If you are interested, check back. I will make some updates here.

It has been a great honor to know and serve all of you. May your families flourish and as they grow, may they do so enveloped in love, peace, empowerment, and respect.
