When asked what he enjoys most about his profession, Foot and Ankle Surgeon Dr. Bryce Karulak says it’s how many cases have a clear beginning and end. When patients come to him with a problem, it's not just a treatment process that goes over a number of years. Instead, he provides a solution so the patient can move on with life and continue the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Karulak says they're currently exploring minimally invasive lateral ankle stabilization procedure options that avoid large incisions and allow for faster recovery.

According to Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist Dr. Cesar Artiles, the patients he sees range from those with symptoms of shortness of breath to those with scar tissue in the lungs. Conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), obstructive sleep apnea, interstitial lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension are just a few he comes across. Drainage is often performed to help patients with pleural effusion, which can alleviate the buildup of fluid between the lungs and the chest wall. For patients undergoing thoracic or any surgery, they perform preoperative evaluations to better assess the situation.
