One of the highlights of this week was bringing together an incredible group of young people from the Rio Grande Valley who are pursuing their dreams in medicine, law, and engineering.

It was great to spend time with my nephew, Ricardo Ochoa, my nieces Nadia and Sofia Ochoa, and Gabi Martinez, the daughter of one of my longtime friends. While each is taking a different path, they all share the same drive to make a meaningful impact.

The Rio Grande Valley has an extraordinary amount of talent. Our responsibility is to help foster it, support it, and open doors so the next generation can reach its full potential. Sometimes all it takes is making the right introduction to create connections that last a lifetime.

I can’t wait to see where their journeys take them.
