What is FIC and why is it dangerous for male cats? While the mechanisms are not fully understood, Feline Interstitial Cystitis causes acute inflammation of the bladder, mimicking signs of a bladder infection. It is stress-induced and psychological factors cause a physiological response, like the bloody urine seen in the second photo. Boy kitties are more at risk of obstructing because their urethra is narrow and even a blood clot can block urine outflow. Kitties prone to this syndrome require a prescription diet and stress management to prevent or reduce recurrence.

Prairie dog facts as pets: They like to chew A LOT! They tend to become obese in captivity. They can be prone to respiratory disease. They are extremely busy and active and very entertaining to hang out with, especially in sibling pairs! They are exceptionally cute!

Beach days with the doggo and family are the best! While dogs can play in the ocean with supervision, drinking saltwater can make them sick fast. It is important to bring fresh water and offer it often to keep your babes hydrated. Sand ingestion is also a risk. Keep an eye on your pup to be sure they are not eating sand, as it could cause intestinal sand impaction, which could be serious. Have fun at the beach with your pups, but monitor closely! 🏖️🐶
