Day 17 — Movesmethod Mobility & Injury Prevention 30-Day Deep Squat Challenge
I thought I took a step backward today. Maybe I didn’t.
I’ve been pushing my limits lately—trying to increase the range of motion in my hips and ankles and get more comfortable in the deep squat.
Today, my body told me I had pushed enough.
I woke up noticeably more sore, and my first instinct was to keep pushing. After all, I only have 13 days left.
But progress doesn’t come from seeing how much discomfort you can tolerate.
Training provides the stress. Recovery is when your body adapts to it.
So today I backed off.
I still squatted throughout the day whenever I had the opportunity, and I continued moving, but I didn’t push my depth, duration, or end ranges.
There’s a difference between challenging your body enough to encourage adaptation and continually pushing until something becomes irritated or injured.
That’s something I probably understood intellectually before this challenge—but actually practicing it when you have a goal and a deadline is another matter. 😂
Stress. Recover. Adapt. Repeat.
Sometimes progressing means pushing a little harder.
And sometimes the smartest way forward is knowing when not to.
Day 17. Still moving. Still learning.

🛑 Stop fixing the hinge if you aren’t going to oil the joint.
Body: Ever notice how you feel great immediately after a treatment (massage, chiro, or acupuncture), but 3 days later the stiffness creeps back in?
It’s not that the treatment didn’t work. It’s that your body couldn’t hold the correction.
Think of your body like a car engine: 🔧 Acupuncture is the Mechanic: It fixes the alignment, releases the pressure, and unblocks stuck gears. 🛢️ Herbs are the Oil: If your engine is running dry, it doesn’t matter how perfectly aligned the parts are—it’s going to overheat and seize up again.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), chronic tension, cramps, and stiffness often mean your tissues are “thirsty.” They lack the internal nourishment needed to stay pliable and soft.
We use acupuncture to reset your structure. We use herbal medicine to rebuild your substance.
You need both to truly heal.

✨ Cinnamon tea may seem simple, but in Chinese Medicine, it has a profound therapeutic effect. Its warming, circulatory nature helps disperse cold from the channels, promote healthy movement of Qi and Blood, and reduce upper-extremity edema and heavy, achy discomfort.
This gentle herbal remedy supports the flow your body depends on—especially when cold stagnation slows things down. A small cup can make a meaningful difference. 🌿🔥

Eye twitching may stem from:
• Fatigue or sleep deprivation
• Caffeine or stimulant overuse
• Ocular strain (screen fatigue)
• Magnesium deficiency
• Stress or anxiety
• Neurological disorders (rare, e.g., hemifacial spasm)
If due to magnesium take an electrolyte drink.
If stress, anxiety and/or ocular stress tap on points around the eye.

Ever feel emotionally overwhelmed or tense for no clear reason?
Try this simple 20-second reset: massage the Shenmen point on your ear and combine it with the 4-7-8 breathing technique.
This sequence stimulates your vagus nerve — the pathway that connects your brain, heart, and gut — helping your body switch from “fight or flight” to calm and restore.
✨ Massage each ear for 5 seconds
🌬️ Inhale for 4 • Hold for 7 • Exhale for 8
Repeat a few cycles and feel your energy shift.
