Cancer touches many families, and every breakthrough starts with understanding how it develops.
A $2.1 million NIH grant is supporting David Libich, PhD, as he studies tiny structures inside cells called biomolecular condensates. These structures help regulate important functions like DNA repair and gene expression.
When these processes do not function properly, cancer can develop. By studying these changes, researchers hope to identify new ways to target cancers, including Ewing sarcoma and BRCA1-related cancers.
This work represents an important step toward developing better treatments and improving outcomes for patients in the future.
