The San Antonio Fire & Police Pension Fund has released its 2026 Financial Planning and Pre‑Retirement Seminar schedule, offering members and their families important opportunities to prepare for retirement with confidence.

These sessions cover key topics including pension benefits, retiree health care, medical insurance, legal planning, tax considerations, and more. Spouses are encouraged to attend.

SAFPPF’s funded ratio for 2025 stands at 85% — a solid measure of long‑term strength.

Pension funds rarely reach 100%, and the Texas Pension Review Board only raises concerns when plans fall to 65% or below.

This strong position reflects years of disciplined management and responsible decision‑making by our Trustees and staff.

Our amortization period — the “debt‑payoff clock” for the pension fund — is now 20.86 years.

For context, the Texas Pension Review Board only becomes concerned when plans exceed 30 years, so SAFPPF remains well within healthy, sustainable territory.
