San Antonio dads—this one’s for you. 👊
Yesterday, a dad in my office gave pediatric airway treatment a name I may never stop using:
“Performance maxxing.”
At first, he wasn’t sure why his son needed treatment. Then we talked about what happens when kids don’t breathe well while they sleep.
Poor sleep doesn’t just mean they’re tired.
It can show up as:
😴 Daytime sleepiness
📚 Trouble focusing at school
⚽ Lower athletic performance
😤 Emotional dysregulation
⚡ Hyperactivity
🧠 A brain and body that never get the chance to fully recover overnight
When I explained that helping his son breathe better could help him perform better in school, sports, and life, everything clicked.
His response?
“Oh… so this is basically performance maxxing.”
Exactly.
As an airway-focused pediatric dentist in San Antonio, I don’t just look at teeth. I look at how your child’s jaw development, tongue posture, and airway may be affecting the way they breathe and sleep.
Because kids can’t perform at their best if they aren’t sleeping at their best.
San Antonio dads: If your child snores, sleeps with their mouth open, tosses and turns, or always seems exhausted despite getting enough sleep, don’t ignore it.
It might be more than “just a phase.”
💜 Schedule an airway evaluation and let’s find out what’s really going on.
