From our friends from New Life Ministries:

You Blew It

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. - Psalm 51:1
You blew it. You went too far and now it feels like all is lost. Sometimes the consequences of behavior cause irreparable damage. When you go into a rage and your anger creates pain and division, the situation might feel beyond hope. Sometimes connections do break down. Someone you have a relationship with might find your anger too much to continue to take on, and they choose to set a boundary or leave the relationship. Anger begins as a feeling and then becomes behavior, which, if not controlled, wreaks havoc in your life.
The good news is redemption is available. You can ask God to forgive you and begin to heal so that anger no longer controls your life. You can take steps to ask forgiveness from those you have hurt. You can make amends for the results of your behavior. The other person is not obligated to forgive you, or stay in the relationship, but you do what you can and then let it rest. The work is yours; the other person is not required to respond in a certain way. It’s wonderful if the relationship is restored, but sometimes that is not possible. Regardless of the outcome, you still have to work on controlling your anger.
Even if you ask and receive forgiveness from the people you hurt, you might still have residual guilt and shame, which if not dealt with has the power to become anger all over again.
The goal is to completely deal with whatever seeks to control you. Gaining freedom from anger is a daily process of asking God to clean your heart and provide guidance for each day. As the Holy Spirit guides your life, you will grow in self-control rather than anger.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord God, my sin of anger is great and wants to control my life. I ask for your redeeming power to clean my heart, mind, and soul. I pray for those who have been hurt by my anger to receive healing and comfort from you, and if possible, that they would be able to forgive me for their peace of mind. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Amen.

The voice of sin is loud, but the voice of forgiveness is
louder. - Dwight L. Moody

From New Life :

Clean on the Inside

You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and wickedness! - Luke 11:39
Jesus often didn’t follow Jewish customs. He went deeper on issues. Once when he was invited to the home of one of the Pharisees, he skipped the ceremonial hand-washing and simply sat down. This gave him the opportunity to make an important point, that the insides of our lives—our true motivations—need just as much attention as the outsides.
The Pharisees cared deeply about their religious commitments, but much of what they did religiously was for show—to be seen. They did everything right on the outside but neglected to clean up their own selfish and unworthy attitudes.
As we work to take our lives back, we must heed Jesus' message. We gave up control of our lives in the first place by hiding or denying our true motivations. For instance, we may truly care about others, but our acts of kindness may also be motivated by how we want people to perceive us. As we take time to reflect on such mixed motives and focus on fixing what’s wrong inside, we’ll also become less and less reactive.
Ask Yourself
Think back to a recent time when you did something for someone else. Identify the mix of motives inside of you at that time.
Is it better to do something good from mixed motives or to hold back from doing good because you know your motives are mixed? What is an even better alternative?
Ask God
Father, I know my motives for doing good are mixed. Help me clean my “cup” by shining your light inside me. Help me respond to others with your love rather than out of the "filth" inside me.

Amen. Thank you my Native brothers and sisters in Christ !

Not all spiritual advice in this world is good. Even worse is that Satan has an ally inside of us. Our sinful nature cannot be trusted and loves bad advice.

What can be done? Jesus always speaks the truth. He speaks to you on the pages of Holy Scripture. His truth will set you free.

Compare what we teach with God's Word and decide for yourself if we are teaching the truth or if we are servants of Satan. You're invited to our FREE, live, online Bible study starting Monday, June 8 @ 8:00pm Central. No obligation.

Amen.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph. 6:12

Word Among Us

2 Peter 3:12-15a, 17-18

Beloved: Wait for and hasten the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved in flames and the elements melted by fire. But according to his promise we await new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace. And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation.

Therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, be on your guard not to be led into the error of the unprincipled and to fall from your own stability. But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
