Free, virtual, and open to everyone. Registration required.

The Global Meno Educa-thon runs October 10–17 — seven days of menopause and women's health education, with 20+ speakers from the US, UK, Canada, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa, and Tanzania.

Dr. Hailparn is speaking on lichen sclerosus, which fits: October is also LS Awareness Month.

The rest of the program covers hormone therapy myths versus evidence, treatment-induced menopause after cancer, pelvic organ prolapse, the menopause-cancer connection, mental health in midlife, and menopause at work.

It's on Zoom and it's free, but you have to register — only registered attendees are admitted each day.

"I had never talked to any doctor about a problem that bothered me since I was a teenager."

She wrote that in a WebMD review. Then she explained why she wrote it — for other women.

Her words: if you've been living with this kind of thing, whatever it is, you don't have to wait as long as she did.

That's the part worth repeating. Not the surgery. The years before it.

Long, bulky l***a causing pain, discomfort, and embarrassment is not a rare problem. Staying quiet about it for decades isn't rare either.

If something has bothered you since you were young and you've never raised it with anyone, that's worth a conversation.

"I went to one surgeon and something in my gut felt like it just wasn't the right person to do this procedure for me."

So she got a second opinion.

What she describes about coming to Dr. Hailparn isn't the surgery — it's the consultation. The time spent. Being educated rather than sold to.

Dr. Hailparn sees second and third opinions regularly, and there's nothing awkward about it. A consultation should leave you understanding your anatomy, your options, and what recovery actually involves. If it doesn't, that's worth knowing before you schedule anything.

Honored to be a speaker at the Global Meno Educa-Thon 2026, a free, seven-day global women's health conference hosted by Dr. Marie Keka and TEKHI Global for World Menopause Day, 25+ speakers, 15+ countries, live on Zoom October 10-17.

My focus: lichen sclerosus, a condition that's more common than most realize, often goes undiagnosed for years, and is too frequently dismissed. Diagnostic delay of a decade or more is common, and that's exactly what education like this can change.

What I love about this event is its reach, a genuinely global conversation that makes space for the overlooked conditions and voices in women's health.

"I kept waiting for it to hurt. It just… didn't." — ThermiVA patient, 47

That's the most common thing women say afterward. It's also the one question that's hardest to get an honest answer to beforehand: what does ThermiVA actually feel like?

Here's the walk-through.

No preparation is needed — eat normally, take your usual medications, come in on a lunch break if that's what works. The treatment room is a standard exam room. You're positioned as you would be for a routine gyn exam, and no speculum is involved.

A slim handpiece delivers radiofrequency energy to the vaginal tissue. What patients feel is warmth — a gentle, spreading warmth that most describe as a warm massage. That portion takes 15–20 minutes. The external tissue takes another 10–15.

The device monitors tissue temperature continuously, holding it in the therapeutic range that stimulates collagen production without reaching the point that causes pain. No cutting, no needles, no ablation.

Total time: 30–45 minutes. No recovery period, no restrictions, no downtime.

If something feels too warm at any point, say so — the intensity is adjusted immediately. That's the whole system working as intended.

The full walk-through, from arrival to results, is on the blog. Link in the comments.

"You know your body best." 💗

So many women spend years being told their symptoms are just stress, just aging, just part of getting older — before anyone really listens.

But you're the one living in your body. When you know something isn't right, that's not overreacting. It's information that deserves to be taken seriously.

If your doctor isn't listening when you say "this isn't my normal," you deserve one who will. 💗

"It's a masterpiece."

That's what this patient said after her l***aplasty with Dr. Hailparn — and she meant both halves of it. She came in with significant discomfort. She's now happy with how it looks and how it functions.

That pairing is the part the name of this field gets wrong. "Cosmetic" suggests appearance only. But most women who come in are dealing with chafing, discomfort with certain clothing, pain with activity — real, physical, daily. Wanting it to look right too isn't vanity. It's the rest of the same result.

Outcomes in this procedure depend heavily on the surgeon's experience with it. Dr. Hailparn has performed more than 1,200 l***aplasties across 23 years focused exclusively on cosmetic gynecology, and she is the sole author of ACOG's l***aplasty education module, used to educate OB-GYNs nationally.

Individual results vary. A consultation determines whether the procedure is appropriate for you.

"My stress urinary incontinence is finally under control. Everything works the way it's supposed to again."

This patient came to Dr. Hailparn with vaginal laxity and stress urinary incontinence, both affecting her daily life. Her plan was three Morpheus8 V treatments plus PRP for the SUI. Each session took about 20 minutes.

Stress urinary incontinence is one of the most common things women bring in, and one of the most common things they've been told to simply manage. Leaking when you cough, laugh, or lift isn't a character flaw or an inevitable part of having had children. It's a functional problem, and it's treatable.

Individual results vary. Treatment plans are tailored to each patient, and a consultation determines what's appropriate for you.

"The main thing I was worried about is pain. And I can tell you, the pain is quite non-existent."

This is post-op day one, recorded by the patient herself.

Pain is the question that stops most women from moving forward with l***aplasty, and it's rarely answered by anyone who's actually just had it. So here's one woman's answer, one day out.

Her reasons for having it weren't cosmetic. Chafing when she worked out. Discomfort depending on what underwear she wore. Small things that were always in the back of her mind, and that she didn't want to keep managing.

Individual results vary. Recovery timelines differ from patient to patient, and this reflects one patient's experience on day one. A consultation determines whether the procedure is appropriate for you.

Dr. Hailparn has performed more than 1,200 l***aplasty procedures. She says she can tell within minutes of starting a case which patients prepared for it.

Not because they did anything unusual. Because of a handful of things most women don't know to do — including one that has more effect on how you heal than almost anything else on the list.

Preparation isn't paperwork. It changes your surgical conditions, your complication risk, and your recovery.

The full week-by-week checklist is on the blog: what to stop two weeks out, what to have waiting at home, what to do the night before, and what happens if you get your period or get sick before your surgery date.
