After a life-changing cervical spinal cord injury, Diandre faced a challenging recovery.

He came to Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital to begin rebuilding his strength and function through intensive therapy. By discharge, Diandre was walking 100 feet with a walker, transferring independently, and completing daily activities on his own once more. 💙

💙 May is National Stroke Awareness Month.

Knowing the signs of stroke and acting quickly can save lives. Remember BE FAST:

🧍 Balance – sudden loss of balance
👀 Eyes – sudden vision changes
😐 Face – facial weakness or uneven smile
💪 Arms – arm weakness
🗣️ Speech – difficulty speaking
⏰ Time – call 911 immediately

This month, we join in raising awareness, supporting survivors, and recognizing the importance of rehabilitation and recovery after stroke. 🌟

After a serious femur fracture left him facing significant challenges, Andrew came to Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital focused on getting stronger. 💙

With hard work, he regained strength, improved mobility, and returned to greater independence. To celebrate how far he had come and the effort he put into his recovery, Andrew and his care team even captured a “graduation” photo! 🎓
