Global Communities Healthy Start (Visit us at GlobalCommunities.org/healthy-start/) We speak English, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, and Somali.

Healthy Start provides free prenatal & childbirth education, post-partum & breastfeeding support in San Diego County with a focus on Black and Immigrant communities. Global Communities’ Healthy Start program provides free childbirth, breastfeeding and parenting support to families in San Bernardino and San Diego Counties, with a focus on Black and Immigrant communities. Staff are certified Childbirth, Lactation, and Parent Educators and connect families to free midwifery and doula support as needed.

The Black Breastfeeding Week Celebration is a FREE drive-thru event for pregnant and parenting families featuring community resources, breastfeeding support, and thoughtfully curated gift bags filled with baby-care and parenting essentials. This year, we're also recognizing the important role that fathers and partners play with dedicated gift bags just for them too!

Your health and your baby’s health matter. Wildfire smoke can increase the risk of preterm birth, low birth weight, and other pregnancy complications. Taking simple precautions now can help keep you and your baby safe.
✅ Stay indoors when air quality is poor
✅ Wear an N95 or P100 mask if you must be outside
✅ Keep a pregnancy emergency bag ready
✅ Stay connected to your healthcare provider and support team
✅ Follow evacuation orders and air quality alerts. Pregnant people are especially vulnerable to wildfire smoke exposure. If you are experiencing difficulty breathing, signs of labor, or other health concerns, contact your healthcare provider right away.

We’re taking baby play outside! Join our postpartum support group for a morning of water play, laughter, and summertime memories at our Summer Splash event.

This FREE family event is perfect for babies and their caregivers to cool off, play, and connect with other families. Our postpartum support group will be meeting outside, and we’ll have baby-friendly splash fun, snacks, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends.

☀️ Don’t forget: Swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, water shoes, and a change of clothes.

We can’t wait to splash into summer with you!
