Day 4 for Cranial Sacral training 1 with Upledger Institute Bali Ubud Indonesia

💀💀💀skull stuff!!
We had lecture of intracranial membrane system aka skull stuff! You’ve got frontal, parietal, sphenoid, temporal, occipital bones. The techniques help decompress with gentle traction of the sutures in the direction of desired cranial bone movement. We found elastic like resistance sometimes that felt like a rubber band and in my head while receiving I felt and heard like a “squeaking” which was wild! Working through with only 5 grams of pressure able to release any membranous restrictions😎 my favorite was the frontal bone (your forehead) cause it felt like so much pressure was lifted and I could actually see better !!

After a full day and it being our last night where a lot of people leave tomorrow, the group went out to dinner! Lots of laughs and it was nice to get to know everyone better outside of the class room! Tomorrow is jaw day and I’m stoked! Ok love ya bye

Day 3 of Cranial Sacral 1 with Upledger Institute in 📍ubud Bali Indonesia

Okay today was my FAAAVEEEEE!

We did A LOT of hands on work and my body was so ready to work! We learned how to release the diaphragms or inlets through out the body such as the
Pelvic, respiratory, thoracic, hyoid. These were my favorite because each section I could think of everyone of my clients that would benifit from these techniques and that got me STOKED

My favorite was the hyoid which is the throat basically because giving and receiving was so epic. This release will be for those with TMJ disfunction, headaches, speech/voice problems, neck throat or thyroid problems.

Energetically a lot is stored in the throat/chest/neck and I’ve been tuning into that a lot recently before this so it was cool to feel that. When I received my jaw actually started chattering and vibrating within 10 seconds of the posture being held. So cool 😎

And all that before 12 pm ! The afternoon rocked as well because we did occipital cranial base release and if you know me at all you know the neck is my jammmm!

Special thanks to for capturing these candids (first 3 pics) of me which I think are hilarious and adorable.

Anyways thanks everyone for your kind words of encouragement and taking the time to read my little dear diary apparently. It’s helping me reflect on my day and read over my notes so I love ya thanks bye

Day 2 of Cranial Sacral 1 training with Upledger Institute in 📍Bali Ubud Indonesia

Let’s just say I woke up super early (I don’t see why I’m only a morning person 10k+ miles away but for sure making it my personality while this lasts) still pretty discouraged. I’ve been a Massage Therapist for 15 years whyyyyy isn’t this rhythm coming naturally why aren’t I the best in the first 5 mins of this work shop? I let all of those negative thoughts consume me during lecture in the morning especially because it was more super intricate physiological components of the brain that I’ve never heard of. By lunch, I’ve FaceTimed my mom and sister, had several mental warfare battles with that silly little imposter syndrome betch and took deep breathes to untighten my jaw, I decided to take a walk around the property and found a manifestation tree of course lol 😂 I was like cuuute universe cuuuteeee I see you and you are cute. I sat and read my little study book chapter by chapter underlining and folding pages down I wanted to remember. And then I decided I’m fine actually so

New country, new space, new techniques… and hands that don’t quite know the rhythm yet. As a massage therapist, I’m used to listening, adapting, flowing—but right now, I’m learning all over again. And honestly? It’s humbling af

Anyways here’s what I learned besides that I’m a completely normal human being experiencing normal feelings

This Cranial Sacral stuff works best with a calm nervous system because by the end of the day ya girls got itttttt!!! but literally not till the last 5 mins of class so more tomorrow love ya bye!

Day 1 of Cranial Sacral training with Upledger Institute
📍Ubud Bali Indonesia

Woh! Like always with these trainings my mind just can’t settle with this is really happening! Working my butt off for MONTHS so I can take this time to exercise my brain, be with other like minded healers, bask in the beauty of new sites, smells and experiences. Yes i have cried happy tears.

Class is about 16 people from all over the world! We started class with prayer ceremony for one hour, lots of inscence and flowers(offerings)and blessing(for safety, success, harmony between humans nature and the divine). After the ceremony, some who were open, me and a few others, received holy water all over us which quickly dried up in Bali heat.

We did introductions, history of CS and learned what is cranial sacral rhythm. What I took from it is the body is playing music all the time, rhythms are in nature we are nature and if you tune in you can follow it and sometimes it’s off beat. We all know that there’s a respiratory rhythm and cardiac rhythm but the CS rhythm is 4-8 cycles per minute going out and in and up and down, being able to locate and palpate at “listening stations” throughout the body. I won’t get into the science of it cause I’m still learning and it’s a lot of info. But!! what I’m primarily focused on as the practitioner has a lot to do with how you show up. Not a lot of information can come into my hands unless my therapeutic presence, neutrality, being able to blend and meld is strong. This did not happen the first day I was too excited 😂 and that’s my honest feeling because truthfully all I want to do is be class clown AND win at massage OKAY

Anyways, Luckily I wasn’t the only one that couldn’t quite catch the rhythm and that created a good time to connect with others about what we were feeling.

Ended my evening with a bath in my new bath tub and fell asleep by 9 pm 🫠🫠🫠 talk about melting and blending!

Also true Gretchen fashion did NOT look into where this workshop was being held and it’s quite the upgrade from the hostels this girl is used to 🌴🐸🍃🌱🦎🪲had no idea literally so gorgeous this green is making me cry lol
Ok love ya bye

How do you show your employees appreciation? I think I know of a wayyyy….

Got to visit in Encinitas and massage the employees on their beautiful land. The hard work these gals put in is seen through their immaculate gardens 😍 rows and rows of colorful life. I’m truly honored they have me back every summer to facilitate healing in such a peaceful environment. I feel so energized working barefoot in the soil, watching little insects putter and doing what I love 💕

My last day!
For our final we had to demonstrate over 2 consecutive hours of material be able to perform certain poses and postures !

Sitting on the beach in southern Thailand currently after saying my good byes (more like see you laters) this past weekend in chiang Mai. The city I found overstimulating at first and quickly became one of my favorite places, and I owe that to my school giving me a place to slow down and remember why I’m here. thinking about the last few weeks got me feeling so thankful 🙏🏼 thankful for my fellow students my teachers and everyone supporting this journey. So thankful I get to call this my professional career but also my passion. Forever a student, that’s why they call it a practice!

My next step is to enjoy a relaxing post graduation vacation by the beach. And then return home to my kitties, clients, friends and share this knowledge and hold on to this feeling as long as I can 🙏🏼
