The Crow in Sicilian Witchcraft
In Sicilian folk spirituality, the crow is often associated with Iddu (Iddio), the Divine Masculine. Far from being a symbol of misfortune, the crow is traditionally viewed as a guardian, protector, and spiritual ally.
Many practitioners believe that crows act as a shield against negative energies, psychic attacks, harmful intentions, and wandering spirits. They may also appear as warnings, encouraging us to pay attention to our surroundings and intuition.
One sign often spoken of in traditional lore is a strong connection with crows. Some witches seem to attract them naturally, finding them appearing repeatedly throughout their lives. Their presence reminds us that even solitary practitioners are never truly alone.
The spiritual world often speaks through nature, and the crow is one of its most powerful messengers. When a crow crosses your path, take a moment to listen. What is it trying to show you?
