It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Philip Taunton.

Since helping establish Eye Care of San Diego in 1997, Dr. Taunton dedicated nearly three decades to caring for his patients with kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to their well-being. More than an exceptional optometrist, he was a respected leader, mentor, and friend whose warmth and positive spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dr. Taunton's legacy lives on through the countless patients he cared for, the colleagues he inspired, and the values of compassionate, patient-centered care that continue to guide our practice. We are deeply grateful for his years of service and the lasting impact he made on our team and the San Diego community.

As we honor his memory, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and patients during this difficult time.
