Let Dolly motivate you today. 💛✨
Mental health advocacy matters. Using your voice, platform, and resources to uplift others matters. Dolly Parton has spent decades pairing optimism with action—supporting education, expanding access to resources, and showing up for communities in need.
Sometimes hope is more than a feeling. It’s something we help create for one another.

No thoughts. No feelings. Just blanket.

We live in a world that moves fast — and sometimes we bring that same urgency into our relationships.

But connection takes time.

In this second clip from .stephaniebyrd’s conversation with , they talk about the importance of **slowing down when dating** — giving ourselves enough time to actually get to know someone rather than rushing toward certainty, chemistry, or a relationship.

Slowing down gives us space to pay attention. To notice patterns. To listen to what someone is showing us. And to ask whether there is genuine compatibility, reciprocity, and emotional availability.

Because finding connection isn’t just about being chosen. It’s also about giving yourself enough time to decide who *you* want to choose.

“Do your work, or you will marry your wound.”

Our Clinical Director, .stephaniebyrd, recently joined for a conversation about dating, relationships, and how unresolved wounds can shape who we choose and how we connect.

They explore what it looks like to shift the focus from **“Will they choose me?”** to **“Are we actually compatible?”** — and the role emotional availability, boundaries, reciprocity, and our own inner work play in building healthier relationships.

If you've been feeling more irritable, emotionally reactive, or overwhelmed lately, you're not imagining it.

The start of the school year often brings major changes in routine, increased responsibilities, and a heavier mental load. Add a summer heat wave—which can affect sleep, energy, concentration, and mood—and it's understandable if your nervous system feels stretched.

Instead of criticizing yourself for not handling everything perfectly, try meeting yourself with curiosity and compassion. Small, consistent acts of self-care—like staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and easing into new routines—can make a meaningful difference.

If you're finding that stress, anxiety, or low mood are becoming difficult to manage, therapy can help you build practical tools and support.

The renewed attention surrounding the Lindsay Clancy case has reignited difficult conversations about postpartum mental illness.

Twenty-five years after Andrea Yates, our understanding of postpartum psychosis has grown tremendously. We now recognize it as a rare psychiatric emergency, we've improved awareness, expanded research, and strengthened screening. Yet important gaps remain in access to specialized care, provider training, public education, and our scientific understanding of this rare condition.

It's also important to distinguish postpartum psychosis from postpartum depression. They are different conditions, with different symptoms, levels of risk, and treatment approaches. Conflating them can increase stigma and make it harder for families to recognize when someone needs urgent help.

Our hope is that this conversation moves us beyond polarization and toward greater understanding, earlier recognition, and better support for parents and families.

If you or someone you love is struggling after childbirth, please know that **you are not alone**. Whether you're experiencing depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, overwhelming fear, or symptoms that simply don't feel like yourself, help is available.

If you or a loved one is experiencing hallucinations, delusions, severe confusion, or a loss of contact with reality after childbirth, **seek emergency medical care immediately.** Postpartum psychosis is a psychiatric emergency, and effective treatment is available.

**If you're looking for support, don't hesitate to reach out. At bareWell, we're here to listen, support, and walk alongside you. You don't have to go through this alone.**

If you know, you know. 😅
Therapists lovingly refer to these as "doorknob confessions"—those moments when a client is halfway out the door (or there are only a few minutes left in session) and casually mentions the most clinically significant thing they've shared all week.
No judgment here. Sometimes it takes 47 minutes to feel safe enough to say the thing that matters most.
We'll be right here to pick it up next session. 💛

You are allowed to rest. To ask for help. To feel joy. To question beliefs that no longer serve you. To honor your culture while healing from what has hurt you. To set boundaries. To break cycles. To take up space.
Many Black, Indigenous, and People of Color navigate unique stressors, including discrimination, intergenerational trauma, acculturation, and systemic inequities. Research consistently shows these experiences can affect mental and physical health—but they do not define who you are.
Healing isn't about forgetting where you came from. It's about giving yourself permission to become who you were always meant to be.
May these reminders stay with you long after July ends. 🤍
Research highlights that experiences of discrimination and racial trauma are associated with higher rates of anxiety, depression, PTSD symptoms, and chronic stress. Protective factors—including community connection, cultural identity, social support, and access to affirming mental health care—can foster resilience and well-being.
