📢Perimenopause is real. The symptoms are real. And women deserve to be heard. 💜
This week, a woman attending one of my presentations shared that her doctor told her perimenopause wasn’t real.
Let that sink in. 😔
Perimenopause is a well-established, measurable biological transition. Hormonal fluctuations can affect sleep, mood, cognition, metabolism, menstrual cycles, and even our joints and muscles. IT IS VERY REAL.
📆 Today, on World Menopause Day, the International Menopause Society is drawing attention to persistent joint aches, physical discomfort, and chronic pain during the menopausal transition.
And it’s an important conversation.
Women deserve more than having their symptoms dismissed as simply aging, stress, or something they should learn to tolerate.
⚕️We have evidence-based approaches to evaluating symptoms, identifying contributing factors, and improving quality of life. From nutrition and physical activity to sleep support, individualized medical care, and menopausal hormone therapy when appropriate; SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE.
💜You deserve to feel like yourself. You deserve answers. And you deserve a healthcare team that listens.
If you’re experiencing symptoms that are affecting your quality of life, please don’t stop asking questions. Seek a second opinion when necessary. 👂
Perimenopause is not imaginary. Neither is your discomfort. 💯
And feeling better is a goal worth pursuing. 💜
