Reducing commercial to***co use takes a community effort. That's why San Diego Community Health Center's TO***CO Cessation Coalition brings together community members, healthcare professionals, and individuals with lived experience to share resources, discuss prevention strategies, and support to***co cessation efforts.

Whether you're passionate about public health, interested in to***co prevention, or looking to connect with others working toward a healthier community, we invite you to join the conversation. Together, we can help create more opportunities for education, support, and to***co-free living.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 San Diego Balboa Park Powwow.

This weekend brought thousands of people together in Balboa Park. Over two days, dancers, drum groups, healthcare professionals, Native artists and vendors, volunteers, families, and visitors from all backgrounds helped create a gathering overwhelmingly defined by connection.

For two days, the park became a place where Native traditions were honored, community was strengthened, and people from across San Diego came together to experience something special. We are grateful for the opportunity to transform this public space into an annual tradition where so many can gather, learn, and celebrate.

Thank you all for making this such a meaningful weekend. We look forward to gathering again next year.

This weekend, San Diego Community Health Center hosted our Mental Health and Wellness Fair, through the Zero Su***de program.

The event brought our community members together for wellness activities, local resources, and real conversations around mental health. It was a meaningful day of connection, support, and care for the people we serve.

A huge thank you to our guest speakers and partners for their time, knowledge, and dedication:
Skyler Hughes, SPC Training & Outreach Manager at Community Health Improvement Partners
Marie Obaña, Su***de Prevention Coordinator at Jennifer Moreno VA Medical Center, San Diego
Genevieve Valenzuela, Community Health Worker at County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services
Lucy Warren, Master Gardener.

Through our wellness programs, individuals and families also explored resources and services designed to support overall well-being—highlighting the importance of caring for the body, mind, and spirit.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a powerful and supportive experience for our community.

Join us for the 38th Annual Balboa Park Pow Wow 🪶

Pow wows are more than gatherings—they are living expressions of Native identity, resilience, and community. They carry generations of tradition through song, dance, storytelling, and ceremony. Each drumbeat echoes the heartbeat of the people, each step honors ancestors, and each gathering creates space for culture to be shared, protected, and celebrated.
This pow wow brings together tribes, families, and visitors from many backgrounds to experience the richness and diversity of Native cultures. It’s a place where traditions are passed down to younger generations, where community bonds are strengthened, and where respect for heritage and land is at the center of everything.

Whether you come to watch the Grand Entry, listen to the powerful songs, or simply learn and connect, you are stepping into something meaningful—an opportunity to witness culture that continues to thrive.

All are welcome.
