Fifty has never looked so good.

Happy birthday to my husband, my Omar.

I never could have imagined, when I was young and dreaming, that fifty would look like this , so vibrant, so strong, so full of life. So handsome. So mine. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of you and something in me goes still. I am his wife. And in that stillness I find the word for what you give me, peace. Not the peace of a quiet room, but the peace of being known. Of being held in someone’s esquina, their corner, completely and without apology.

Even in our friction there is love. We sharpen each other. We call each other forward.

You saw me before I fully saw myself. You laid down ground beneath my feet so I could rise, and rise I did, because of you, beside you, because of the foundation only you could build. I hope I have been that for you too. I hope I have held your corner the way you have held mine. And if I have fallen short, let me spend the rest of our years making it right.

You are my faithful friend. My companion. My peace.

I am so blessed you are mine. I am so blessed you are the father of our children.

Happy birthday, mi amor. Fifty looks like everything I never knew to ask for. 🖤

My mom kept toys in her closet. Cabbage Patch dolls. Baby dolls. Barbies. Care Bears.

Not for grandchildren. For herself.

And when I realized that, something in me cracked open. Because I thought about all the years she made sure we had something under the tree, something on our birthdays, something to look forward to. Her love language was always gifts, and I never asked why.

Now I know. She was reaching back for a little girl who was never held that way.

She gave us what she had longed for her whole life.

That’s a love that breaks you and heals you at the same time. 🤍

I found the perfect song lol

A quick recap of our Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend Shenanigans.

I'm so grateful that my mother took care of our kids so that my husband and I could have some alone time . We met knew friends and strengthen other friendships .

I loved playing dress up , listening to live music and lettering loose on the dance floor .

The song reflects my current mood lol 😂. All worth it .

Being back at home after travel or a long birth , this is one of the ways I ground myself . I have all sorts of telepathic conversations with my plants . I feel like they are always happy to see and hear me . They in return bring me comfort just by looking at their beautiful green colors . This plant had been asking for my attention , it needed some TLC . The room had an instant energy boost once I was done .

Join me this International Day of the Midwife, May 5th, for a very special plática I will be offering in support of a fundraiser for Metztli Ixel Tonahualli.

In this space, I will be sharing about my path as a partera in this modern world, and how the teachings of the Red Road have shaped, guided, and rooted my midwifery practice.

I want to be honest, this is not something I share openly or often. There is a part of me that feels shy, and also protective of these teachings. But for this plática, I am choosing to lean in with openness and integrity, to offer a deeper glimpse into how spiritual practice and midwifery are woven together in my life.

It is truly an honor to share in this way, especially on behalf of MIT. This community has been an anchor in my journey, shaping how I show up in service, in ceremony, and in relationship with the families I care for.

This offering is part of an ongoing fundraiser to support the purchase of land for Indigenous ceremonial practices, a vision rooted in sustainability, culture, and future generations.

I would love for you to join us in this circle.

Donation is sliding scale, and all proceeds go directly to this important work. Find the link in my bio .

There is a moment, after the birth, after the first 40 days…
when a mother begins to gather herself again.

In this space, she is still tender.
Still integrating.
Still remembering who she has become.

Whenever I can, I offer my home birth clients a cerrada
a postpartum sealing, as a gift.

Not everyone chooses it, but when they do,
we enter a sacred window together.

This ritual can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
It is done in the home, slowly, intentionally.

We speak about the birth.
We honor what was lived.
We acknowledge what is ready to be closed,
and what is asking to be welcomed in.

There is listening.
There is warmth.
There is touch.
There is song .

I bathe her.
I tend to her body.
I wrap her from head to toe with rebozos,
holding her as she returns to herself.

By this time, there has already been some integration…
but she is still in a tender place.

And she deserves to be held there.
To be loved there.
To be witnessed there.

This offering is something I now only provide
to the families under my midwifery care.

Because it asks so much of me.
Time. Presence. Energy. Heart.

And it is also a closing for me.

After months of giving, tending, and caretaking,
this becomes a moment where I gently calm my own energy…
where I begin to step back, not completely,
but enough to make space for the family
to root into their own knowing,
their own rhythm,
their own chapter.

There is something deeply beautiful
about sealing these six weeks of care in a good way.
In a way that feels complete.
In a way that feels right in my body.

Even as I continue to offer extended postpartum care
for those who desire it…
this moment still marks a transition.

A soft closing.
A loving release.

This is the beauty of continuity of care.

✨ My Postpartum Sealing Retreat this November will be opening for applications on April 3rd.
If you feel called to learn this work, I invite you to stay close.
