My latest book recommendation is an important one, especially for those gentle souls out there. Many people who find themselves drawn to healing professions can identify with experiencing the world as a sensitive human being or deeply feeling their way through life, sometimes feeling what others are feeling and not always being able to identify their feelings from the feelings of others.

I learned very late in my own life and my career that my energetic boundaries needed attention. It wasn’t until I began to experience the harmful side effects of poor energetic boundaries that I began to explore what I needed to do to become more self-aware in this area of my life.

If you identify as a sensitive human being you should know that your sensitivity and compassion is a gift. Unfortunately, not everyone in life can be trusted with your sensitive nature.

I have found the work of Shahida Arabi to be the most relevant, gentle and also practical, as someone who has experienced relational abuse and relationship trauma.

Her research provides insight into evidence-based strategies for confronting the dangers of relational trauma, the addictive cycle of abuse and how it affects the brain. Even if this does not directly apply to you and your life experience, I know it applies to someone you know or who is in your care. For all of these reasons I highly recommend any of her works.

Her wisdom and insight into this topic is priceless for anyone who is on a healing journey to recover from relational trauma and narcissistic abuse.

This journey to wholeness is not easy, but there is help and there are people who can empathize with this extremely painful experience. One thing I know for sure is that we are not meant to heal alone. Look for the helpers. We are here for you.❤️🩹
