Had a blast being out in the SD 🇵🇭 community promoting health in our culture today!
It was amazing to see all the Filipinos coming together to take part in this event and meeting everyone that came by, including the other vendors!
I haven’t talked much about this publicly, but over the past few years I’ve found myself connecting more and more with my Filipino side—especially after starting my own Filipino family and becoming a dad.
And the more I’ve connected with the culture, the more I’ve thought about what I can contribute to it.
Health has been my career for a long time, but this next chapter feels a little different. I want to use what I’ve learned as a dietitian and physical therapist to help more Filipino Americans take care of their health in a way that actually fits our lives, our families, and our culture.
That means getting healthier without thinking we have to give up rice or Filipino food. Getting stronger so we can keep doing the things we love. And hopefully helping our families build healthier habits that carry into the next generation.
Today was just one event, but seeing so many Filipinos of different ages out there moving, laughing, connecting, and prioritizing their health reminded me why I want to keep doing more of this.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hi, shared their story, or simply came out and supported the community. 🇵🇭❤️
Excited to see where this goes. ☀️
