Many of my patients desire a more youthful appearance without the downtime and risks associated with surgery. This 73-year-old patient was no exception. She wanted natural-looking rejuvenation but wasn’t interested in a facelift because of concerns with incisions, scars, recovery, general anesthesia, and the possibility of looking overly tight or “overdone.”

Based on her goals, I suggested my proprietary nonsurgical rejuvenation procedure. A devastating dog bite left this 24-year-old patient with a prominent scar extending from the inner corner of her right eye.

Using a customized combination of Vbeam Prima, Fraxel Restore, AcuPulse CO₂, and Q-switched Alexandrite lasers, I treated her scar with a series of 5 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Each laser targeted a different aspect of the scar, including redness, texture, discoloration, and collagen remodeling.

The result? Her scar is now extremely difficult to detect, and most importantly, she has regained her confidence.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is, “My surgeon told me to wait a year before treating my scar.” Research shows that early laser intervention can significantly improve scar appearance and often leads to better long-term outcomes. In many cases, treatment can begin within weeks after suture removal.
