As with anything it’s so critical to get to the root cause of what’s afflicting your body. You hear many holistic dentists and other talk about cavity prevention, etc. as a means of healthcare, but very little on the harm of clenching/grinding and losing teeth’s affect on your nervous system.
Typically they’ll slap an expensive nightguard in your mouth and call it a day, but did that fix anything? The sooner we can all come together and recognize that the body is one connected system, teeth are not separate from the brain or from the rest of the body.
Pulling teeth unnecessarily, or due to issues that could have been resolved, create instability in the bite, the structure, and research shows can also create memory decreases. Of course, if you had to get a tooth pulled because of severe infection, that is always a different matter, and it’s recommended to do implants so that your bite remains more stable.
But the real issue of addressing cracked teeth, crowded bites, worn down teeth, improper breathing, all of these things have to be addressed, looking at the nervous system and at the entire body. It often also requires working with a team, but when you have the right team and the right thing for you, balance occurs clenching ceases, and the teeth and brain are in more harmony.
