This is the post 😁

For years, self-care was marketed as bubble baths, scented candles, face masks, and weekend getaways. While those things can be comforting, they often become temporary relief for lives that still leave us exhausted, disconnected, and overwhelmed once the moment passes.

Real self-care is deeper than indulgence.

It is building a life that feels safe to stay present in.

A life you don’t constantly fantasize about escaping from.

You deserve a life that feels like home.

🌟 The 6 Principles of Sexual Health 🌟
Sexual health is about more than just the absence of disease—it’s about well-being, respect, and human dignity. These 6 principles of sexual health, developed by experts in the field, offer a comprehensive foundation for understanding and promoting sexual wellness for all people.
1. Consent
At the heart of all healthy sexual interactions is consent—freely given, informed, enthusiastic, and reversible. Everyone has the right to make decisions about their body and boundaries without pressure, manipulation, or fear.
2. Non-Exploitative
Sexual health requires relationships and behaviors that are free from exploitation, coercion, or abuse. Power imbalances, manipulation, and unequal dynamics undermine trust and safety.
3. Protection from STIs and Unintended Pregnancy
Everyone has the right to access accurate information and effective tools to protect themselves and their partners from sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. This includes condoms, contraception, testing, and treatment.
4. Honesty
Sexually healthy relationships are built on honesty and transparency—about desires, risks, boundaries, and intentions. Open communication fosters trust and helps prevent harm or misunderstanding.
5. Shared Values
Mutual understanding and respect for each other’s personal, cultural, or spiritual values are key to healthy sexual interactions. This doesn’t mean agreeing on everything—but it does mean navigating differences with care and respect.
6. Mutual Pleasure
Sexual health recognizes the importance of mutual pleasure and satisfaction. All people deserve to feel safe, respected, and valued in their sexual experiences.

💬 Why does this matter?
Because sexual health is human health. When we support these principles, we create safer, healthier, more respectful communities—where everyone can thrive.

Support Group: You’re Not Alone in Times Like These

The world feels heavy right now, and if you’re struggling to process everything that’s happening, you’re not alone. It’s easy to feel isolated, anxious, or overwhelmed by the constant stream of political and global events. This group is a space where you can share those feelings, be heard, and connect with others who truly understand. Whether you’re feeling frustrated, hopeless, or just emotionally exhausted, you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.

🗓 When: First Monday of the month, starting April 7th
⏰ Time: 4:00 – 5:30 PM
📍 Where: Virtually via zoom
💰 Investment: $75 per session

This group is lead by Dr. Ida Fariba, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, designed to provide a supportive and validating space to share your emotional experience around current political and global events. Together, we’ll navigate these challenges, foster connection, and remind each other—we’re in this together.

If you didn’t know, I am now a AAMFT-approved supervisor! I love supervising therapists just beginning their therapy journey. It is extraordinarily humbling and truly a privilege to guide and teach these humans who want to dedicate their lives to helping others ♥️

Does this resonate with you? I felt like this for a long time. I longed for connection with someone.. anyone! However, vulnerability felt so scary and dangerous… so what do I do? I longed for that connection and yet, I was terrified to ask for it. I found it was easier to shut down and not feel anything. Does this sound familiar?

This is where I come in. As a couples therapist, I will help you tap into your emotions and experience them. I will help you put words to them. I will help you take the fear with you as you are being vulnerable with your partner. I’ll be there with you every step of the way and help you experience that, as scary as vulnerability may feel, there is nothing like feeling emotionally connected to your partner ♥️
