What if the clarity you keep looking for requires you to actually leave your life for a minute?

Not run away from it.
Step outside of it.

Because it’s really hard to figure out what you want next while you’re still answering the emails, handling the clients, taking care of everybody, solving the problems and living inside the same routines that created the life you’re questioning.

Sometimes you need physical space before you can find mental space.
And then something happens.

The noise gets quieter.
You stop reacting long enough to actually think.

You can look at your business without being buried inside of it.

You can look at your life without immediately thinking about what everyone else needs from you.

And you finally have room to ask:
What do I actually want now?

That question can feel terrifying when you’ve never done what you’re considering doing.

But of course you haven’t.

You’re becoming a version of yourself you haven’t been before.

Doing something YOU never do might be the entire point.
And sometimes what we need isn’t another podcast, book, course or person telling us what to do.

We need space.
We need conversation.
We need women around us who can see possibility when we’re still learning to see it ourselves.

We need enough quiet to hear our own thoughts and enough positive reinforcement to start believing that what we see might actually be possible.

That is why I created the Desert Clarity Retreat.

October 15–18, we’re stepping away together in Desert Hot Springs.

Life. Business. Relationships. Reinvention. What stays. What goes. What you want. And what comes next.

Not four days of escaping your life.
Four days to get clear enough to go home and create it differently.

Four private rooms remain. This time with us closes September 8.

If something in you keeps saying “I need this”, listen.
You’re allowed.

DM me DESERT for the details.

There’s a moment we love as teachers: when someone suddenly understands why they’re doing this.

Before we started this session, John was sharing his realizations of what training is brining into his 55-year old paradigm of fitness and said, essentially:
Oh. This is about longevity.

Exactly.
We’re not trying to make you better at Pilates.

We’re using Pilates to help you live better in your body.

To get up and down with confidence. Carry things. Walk. Travel. Maintain your balance. Keep your strength. Continue doing the things that make your life yours.

But longevity requires more than simply moving.

It requires connection.

Learning to feel where your strength comes from. How you stabilize. When you’re compensating. How to create force from within before adding more resistance from the outside.

That intrinsic understanding of your body is foundational to both Pilates and strength training.

And when that clicks, the exercise stops being just an exercise.

You understand what you’re actually training for.
Your life.

New here? Start with our 30-Minute Intro to Reformer, then continue into our 4-week Radical Foundations series, where you’ll explore a different piece of traditional Pilates equipment each week while learning more about the body using it.

Come learn the body you live in now.

Pilates is more than getting on a Reformer and following along.

At Radical Change, we want you to understand the body you’re bringing to the equipment.

Your feet. Your balance. Your posture. Your strength. The places you compensate. The things that have changed as you’ve gotten older.

And then we teach you how the traditional Pilates equipment can support the body you live in now.

That’s what our introductory classes are designed to do.
Start with our 30-Minute Intro to Reformer and get comfortable with the fundamentals.

Or go deeper with Radical Foundations, our 4-week series where each week we introduce you to a different piece of Pilates equipment, how we use it and most importantly, how your body connects to it.

Because Pilates can be so much more than another workout you squeeze into your week.

It can become part of how you care for your body, maintain your strength and mobility, and stay connected to what your body needs as you age.

Come learn why we believe traditional Pilates belongs in your self-care routine.

Your body has a history. Let’s learn how to work with it and live better. And have you heard about pilates or***ms???

One of the things we hear most from people over 40 is some version of:

“I don’t feel like this is my body anymore.”

It is your body.

But it may not move the way it used to. It may not recover the same way. Things that once felt easy suddenly require thought. Old injuries start speaking up. Balance changes. Strength changes.

And it’s easy to get discouraged when you keep comparing the body you live in now to the one you remember.

That’s a big part of why we exist.

Because as our bodies change, the way we think about movement has to change too.

Movement isn’t punishment for getting older. It isn’t something we do simply to make our bodies look different.

Movement is a gift.

And I’m learning this right alongside my clients as I age: the less we move, the easier it becomes to move even less and the harder moving becomes. Strength, balance, mobility and confidence need our participation.

So move.

Make it fun. Find movement you actually enjoy. Learn how your body works now. Build strength for the life you want to keep living.

And make it non-negotiable.

Because one of the greatest privileges of having a body that can move is continuing to give it reasons to. Our method encourages your participation in your body and what a gift that authority is for your life.

DM and let’s talk about how Radical Change can help you move better.

Your body has a history.

By 40, 50, 60 and beyond, you’re not walking into a Pilates studio as a blank slate.

You bring the old knee injury. The surgery. The back that occasionally talks to you. The balance that isn’t quite what it used to be. The shoulder you’ve learned to work around. The years you spent sitting, running, lifting, caring for other people or simply living.

We want to know that body. And we want to know the person living in it.

That’s why relationship matters so much at Radical Change.
We are a traditional Pilates studio. We teach the work, use the apparatus, cue, touch, correct, challenge and progress you.

But we also pay attention.
We learn how you move.
What your body protects.
Where you compensate.
What you’re afraid to trust.
Where you’re stronger than you realize.

And when you need another moment to figure something out for yourself.

Because rehabilitation isn’t simply putting a body into the “right” position.
It’s creating the conditions for that body to learn something different.

Over time, that might look like better balance. More strength. Less fear around a movement. Greater awareness. Getting off the floor more easily. Trusting a knee again. Or simply understanding what your body has been trying to tell you.

Your body after 40 deserves more than a workout.
It deserves teachers who understand that it has a history and a relationship where strength, trust and meaningful change have room to develop.

That’s the work we do here.
Radical Change Pilates & Wellness.
Come learn the body you live in now.

If you’re new here, welcome. ❤️

I’m Andrea. I’m 53, I’ve had four knee replacements, I love a fabulous tulle skirt and I’ve built a Pilates studio with fabulous instructors who understand getting older doesn’t mean you’re supposed to already know how to navigate the body you’re living in now.

You get to be a student again.

Because the body you have at 45, 55 or 70 may not move like the one you remember and that’s exactly where we begin.

A few things we believe at Radical Change:

1. You’re allowed to start where you are.
Stiff, weak, wobbly, recovering, confused about what your body needs; you don’t have to get “in shape” before you come to Pilates. You come here to learn.

2. Your history matters.
Surgeries. Old injuries. Back pain. Achy knees. Changes in balance. Years of compensation. We pay attention because your body didn’t arrive here yesterday.

3. Strength after 40 has a purpose.
Getting off the floor. Carrying things. Traveling. Walking farther. Catching yourself when you stumble. Staying independent. Doing more of what makes your life yours.

4. There is still so much room for JOY.
Wear the tulle. Try something new. Laugh when your legs shake. Be delighted by what your body learns to do.

I know what it means to meet a body that has changed and learn it all over again.

That’s what we make room for here.

Come as you are. Become a student of the body you live in now. And let’s see what your body can do today.
