A certificate gets you certified. It doesn’t teach you how to fill a class, earn a living, communicate or learn to become an entrepreneur. Which if you want to start your own business…

That’s the gap we built our teacher training to close.

Mat Fundamentals starts November 7 at Radical Change Pilates & Wellness in San Diego and with our fourth cohort you can join in-studio or online.

Here’s what you get:
→ Mat, Magic Circle and functional anatomy
→ Nervous system-aware cueing you can use with real bodies
→ Business mentoring on pricing, client retention and communicating your value
→ Small cohorts, plus support after you graduate
→ Unlimited studio classes while you train

Each level ends with you teaching a full 50-minute session, so you finish ready to lead a room, not just pass a test.

Tuition is $1,555 online or $2,995 in-studio, and an $800 deposit holds your spot. Reformer begins February 2027.

Spots are limited on purpose. Tap the link in my bio to apply.

Save this for later and send it to the friend who’s been saying “I should become a Pilates teacher.”

A gentle reminder, especially as we head into the holiday season. Mistakes are life lessons. You’ve never been on this planet before. ♥️

So often you think pilates and you think machines and equipment.

Nope! At the heart, the art of Contrology, as Joseph Pilates forced called his method, is movement.

That’s its. Consistent, intentional movement on all planes for the rest of your life. So this episode is two parts and is mostly standing and a great way to start or end the day.

Head on over to YouTube (link in the bio) and subscribe and feel free to offer recommendations of things you’d like to see.💪🏾♥️

If you’re considering becoming a Pilates instructor, I want you to think about something before choosing a teacher training program.

Who is teaching you and what do they actually know about bodies?
I’ve spent more than 35 years in fitness, wellness and somatic bodywork, specializing in prenatal and postpartum care, surgical rehabilitation, professional athletes and people navigating neurological conditions. I’ve also had four major knee replacement surgeries myself.

That experience changes how I now see movement and how I teach it.

One Friday a month I train my instructors. Because knowing Pilates exercises and knowing how to teach the body in front of you are two very different skills.

One of my instructors recently witnessed a woman go ass over head off the short box this week in a Pilates class. The instructor hadn’t properly prepared or cued the exercise.

And that’s the problem with teaching choreography instead of understanding bodies.

You can’t walk into a room of unfamiliar students, throw everybody into Teaser and assume they’re ready.
You need to understand progressions, observe movement, recognize compensations and know whether to pivot and change what you’re asking someone to do.

That’s why I created a somatic-focused Pilates teacher training program.

I teach you to see beyond the exercise. To consider breath, sensation, coordination, strength and the individual human being moving in front of you.

Because Pilates can be incredibly challenging without being careless.

And your responsibility as an instructor isn’t simply to know the repertoire.

It’s to know how, when and why to teach it.

That’s the difference I want you to understand when choosing your education.

Our Mat Foundations 6- week program begins November 7th and with this fourth cohort, I’m offering an online learning option.

DM “MAT” for details or link in the bio.
