When I’m feeling creative, watch out. I will celebrate the s**t out of myself.

And when it isn’t flowing, my inner critic tries to get bossy, mean, and wants me to give up. Does that happen to you?

I’ve learned to tell her to shut it! It’s all about experimentation, discovery, and play. There’s no shaming my way into creating something magical. Plus it makes the experience a real drag.

and so I keep on cheering myself on🥂

🧵 I had cut the hem of an old denim dress and instead of throwing it away (because I don’t sew), I tied it into a tie/necklace and added a flower pin I had laying around.

🍾It’s my 2-Year Bookaversary🍾

🎉Celebrate with me in this carousel.🎉

June 4, 2024: my book, Grief is a Sneaky Bitch: An Uncensored Guide to Navigating Loss, was born. It’s hard to believe everything I was going through in the lead-up to publication: intensive treatment for Triple Positive Cancer, and the wild, fun, intense book tour I created for myself as a reward for completing treatment less than one month before publication. On the tour, I got to be in conversation with people I love and admire, including Melissa Gould, Tracy Wheeler, Leslie Gray Streeter, Cyndie Spiegel, Myra Sack, Brennan Wood, Steph Jagger, Julianne Rollefson, Shelby Forsythia, and Steph Sarazin.

💖 I got to explore places that were new to me, like Bainbridge Island and their adorable independent bookstore , and I got to see a Broadway show in NYC after attending my book event with Cyndie Spiegel at in a torrential summer downpour. I also got to visit spots close to my heart, like my hometown of Ann Arbor at , and Boston, where I went to college, chatting with Myra Sack at . Along the way, I got to hear the stories of grievers and their loved ones as they asked questions during Q&A and shared glimpses of their loved ones while I signed their books. My team at , and especially , are incredible champions. Thanks to them, Mexico translated the book into Spanish, and it’s now sold in Mexico and Spain. My British friends can find the book in their local shops too, thanks to

💖 I have ideas for another book brewing, but in the meantime, I want to pause and celebrate this one. I want to thank every single person who has bought the book for themselves, and for those they love. To the hundreds of you who have taken the time to leave a rating and review on Amazon and Goodreads. – by leaving reviews, sending notes, telling me in person – what you loved about the book.

💖With love and gratitude,

🌟NEW EPISODE🌟

In a world overwhelmed by collective trauma and personal grief, how can we rebuild trust, safety, and connection—starting from within? trauma therapist and expert in attachment and somatic healing joins joins host on , as she unpacks how early wounds shape our current relationships with ourselves and others—and reveals transformative tools to rewire that deep wiring.

This episode shatters the myth that grief is linear or predictable. Angela shares her powerful journey through childhood loss, from her father’s violent death to her mother’s mental illness, illustrating how unprocessed trauma embeds itself in our nervous system, often surfacing as shame, frozen grief, and disconnection. She illustrates how these early attachment wounds generate patterns—seeking the familiar, recreating dysfunctional dynamics, and feeling unsafe in our own bodies—often without conscious awareness.

You’ll discover: how healing attachment wounds through relationship and community is not just possible but essential; why trauma lives in the body—and how somatic therapies like EMDR and equine therapy mobilize profound change; the importance of moving beyond intellectual understanding to embodied trust; and practical ways to cultivate self-compassion, discernment, and inner safety. Angela emphasizes that attachment wounds are always healable—when we have a safe container, mindful movement, and compassionate community—and urges us to reclaim our innate wisdom.

This episode is essential listening for anyone navigating grief, trauma, or relational wounds, especially in turbulent times. If you’re yearning to shed the shame, unlock your inner resilience, and forge authentic connections—Angela’s insights will change the way you see healing.
