So many conversations - so much wisdom - so much love.

One thing I’ll always remember that Edie said, was when I asked her, “what would you say to your younger self?” She replied, “I would have told me not to worry so much about being liked.”

That is wisdom I try to understand for all it’s worth. Not to be disliked, but to be ourself. Uncompromisingly our true self even in the face of family, work and love.

I also add this moment of Edie’s wisdom, “before you say anything decide if it Import, Necessary or Kind? If not… don’t say it.”

How to reconcile that’s two ideas?

Be who you truly are … and don’t say mean things unless they must be said.

With love,
Jordan @ Edith Eger Foundation

"No one can take away what you've put in your own mind."

Our dear Edie passed away on April 27 at the age of 98. We recently came upon this never-before-seen video of her, and it is pure Edie.

If her story moves you, we hope you will carry it forward:

With Edie passing we brought a group together to share in her wisdom and values for a few cherished days here in La Jolla. We missed her presence but felt her spirit.

On this Friday we hope you will find a moment to reflect on our dearest Edie - and perhaps share a story or idea here for each of us to read and remember how she helped us to become our most authentic - compassionate and wise self.

We missed you Edie and we keep your message alive and well in our actions and thoughts.

We send our love to you all 💛

This Saturday we are so happy to announce that Director John Coles documentary, “The Choice” will be premiering at The International Berkshire Film Festival.

This powerful documentary features Dr. Eger and her amazing life journey, and how her story inspired a mother who lost her son to find forgiveness in the most challenging of moments.

This is a beautiful and challenging film that we are so grateful to release at this time.

If you are interested in attending, please see the link in bio to get your ticket.

And, streaming options will be coming soon!

This morning Jill Racoosen Hammons - who set up a beautiful event at the USS Midway many years ago which Edie spoke at- sent me this photo with the following note :

“Hi Jordan… I found this great picture of your grandmother with an active duty soldier when they both co-presented at my USS Midway membership event.   People still remember because not only was your grandmother’s story so poignant and stunning, she kicked up her leg straight up in the air at the end!!! “

Edie loved the USA, and was always grateful to the soldiers who gave their lives to save hers.

On this Memorial Day, we celebrate and commemorate those who have served and gave the ultimate price in that service.

Sending Edie’s love to you all,

Edith Eger Foundation

Step into your power. What a perfect song for Edie’s rise.

She walked through so many phases of her life until she became Dr. Edith Eger NYT bestselling author - in her 90s.

What can we learn? Not to give up. Keep walking proud and learning the lessons life and God are gifting you.

And when the time is right, as Edie always said, write your book.

We are all waiting to read it 💛

Shabbat shalom - missing our dear Edie this Friday. Keep her in your hearts.

With love,

Our dearest Edie was a star and left us so much of her soul. Without trying to she kept us engaged and inspired - and we all leaned in to learn more … feel more … and listen to our inner voice for guidance.

Edie wasn’t one to tell us how to be. She was one to SHOW us how to be.

We hope to take this wisdom with us - and be the change we want to see in the world, rather than telling others to be.

We miss you Edie, you shining star! And yet we feel you every day in our hearts and actions.

Let us know in the comments.. how did she inspire you?

With love,
Edith Eger Foundation

Our dear Edie loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Talk about grandmother energy!

Many people would tell us that she signed their books, “Grandma Edie.”

She understood that not all women are mothers, but all of them had one at some point. And she was always willing to be the mother or grandmother you needed.

We miss our dearest Edie on this first Mother’s Day without her. And we feel her spirit rising in each of us. All of us at the Edith Eger Foundation wish you a very happy Mother’s Day. And we celebrate all of you who share your light with the world around you.

(Photos show Edie and Magda with their daughters as well as Klara’s daughter. And then Edie and Bela with her first daughter, Marianne, just after the war in 1946, and then Edie with her grandchildren)

How quickly a life changes - from who we were to who we become.

So many transitions happen on that journey, and each is a chance to revisit who you are now, and who you want to become.

Edie was always changing her life, from Hungary to Baltimore, to El Paso…. To La Jolla (where the second photo is from) - and each time she was working to become her true self, her full self.

May we see her, learn from her, and become our greatest expression of self.

With love and Shabbat Shalom,
Team Edie
