On Earth Day, we’re often asked to think big—oceans, climate, the future of the planet. But sometimes the most meaningful connection is smaller, quieter, and right above us.
In our Cortez neighborhood, the jacaranda is our tree—and purple is our color 💜. It’s part of how Cortez Hill is defined—through these blooms that take over each spring, softening the city and turning the streets into something almost cinematic.
For a few short weeks, everything changes—
and then, just as quickly, it’s gone.
That briefness is what makes it powerful. A reminder that beauty is cyclical, fleeting, and still worth protecting. 🌍
