The skincare advice I ignore?

That if you just find the right active ingredient, the right cream, you’ll solve skin aging.

Skin doesn’t age for one reason and it won’t transform frim one input.

It ages because multiple biological processes gradually change over time.

Collagen production declines.
Oxidative stress accumulates.
The skin barrier becomes less efficient.
The skin’s ability to repair itself becomes less resilient.

These processes work together, which is why healthy skin depends on more than any single cream, serum, or supplement.

As a pharmacist, that realization changed the way I looked at skin health.

Instead of asking, “What’s the best collagen?” I started asking, “What does healthy skin actually need to function well over time?” How do i support the full system?

That question led me to spend years reviewing the scientific literature and ultimately create ATIKA. It’s not just a collagen supplement. It’s an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula that combines collagen peptides, ceramides, antioxidants, carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamins, and essential cofactors to support multiple aspects of skin biology — from structural integrity and antioxidant defense to barrier health and overall skin vitality.

I’m not saying topical skincare doesn’t matter. It absolutely does.

I’m saying healthy skin is built by supporting the biology underneath, too.

What’s one piece of skincare advice you’ve stopped believing?

I just spent a month kitesurfing in Sardinia — hours every day in intense UV, wind, salt water, heat, and friction. That’s one of the harshest environments for your skin.

But my skin held up incredibly well. What did I do?

Did I rely on sunscreen? Absolutely. SPF is non-negotiable. Because I was spending so many hours under intense UV light. I layered my son protection. The first layer was vitamin C serum, then the newer-generation European chemical sunscreens (Tinosorb, Uvinul, etc), then a layer of water-resistant zinc formulation (I used Dermasport) and then a tinted zinc stick on highly exposed area areas like under the eyes and on the nose.

But I also supported my skin from within. And as if this made a huge difference for my skin recovery.

ATIKA is as an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula. It combines collagen peptides, oral ceramides, and a synergistic blend of antioxidants, carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamins, and cofactors to support skin longevity, hydration, barrier health, firmness, and resilience. It helps with oxidative stress for the UV that does get through, and it helps to keep the skin barrier intact.

Great skin isn’t about one product. It’s about giving your skin the tools it needs to respond to daily damage.

You don’t have a skin problem. You have a skin biology problem.

Most people think skin aging is just about losing collagen.

It isn’t.

As we age, multiple biological systems change at the same time:
• Collagen production slows.
• Oxidative stress increases.
• The skin barrier becomes less efficient.
• Cellular repair becomes less resilient.

That’s why chasing a single “miracle ingredient” rarely delivers lasting results.

I created ATIKA after spending years reviewing the scientific literature because I wanted to address the biology behind healthy skin — not just one pathway. It’s not just a collagen supplement. It’s an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula that combines collagen peptides, oral ceramides, antioxidants, carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamins, and cofactors to support skin longevity, hydration, firmness, barrier health, and resilience.

Healthy skin isn’t built by one ingredient.
It’s built by supporting the systems that keep skin functioning at its best.

I wish more people knew that healthy-looking skin isn’t built by a topical routine alone.

Your skin is your body’s largest organ. While moisturizers help support the surface, healthy skin also depends on what happens beneath it.

Collagen production, antioxidant defenses, the skin barrier, and cellular repair all influence how your skin looks and functions over time.

That’s why my approach has never been just skincare. It’s skin biology.

Daily SPF is essential. So is supporting your skin from within with the nutrients involved in collagen synthesis, antioxidant defense, and barrier function.

That’s why I created ATIKA — not as a collagen supplement, but as an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula. It combines collagen peptides, oral ceramides, antioxidants, carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamins, and cofactors to support skin longevity, hydration, firmness, barrier health, and resilience from the inside out.

Healthy skin isn’t built by one cream.
It’s built by supporting the biology that creates healthy skin.

You can hydrate the surface of your skin all day long, but if your skin barrier isn’t functioning well, it can continue to lose moisture.

Your skin barrier is made up of lipids, including ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. When it’s compromised by UV exposure, wind, heat, cold, over-exfoliation, or aging, transepidermal water loss (TEWL) increases, leaving skin drier, more reactive, and often less resilient.

Topical moisturizers help from the outside. Oral ceramides work differently.

Clinical studies have shown that oral ceramides can help improve skin hydration, reduce TEWL, and support skin barrier function from within.

ATIKA isn’t just a collagen supplement. It’s an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula that combines clinically studied oral ceramides, collagen peptides, antioxidants, carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamins, and cofactors to support multiple biological processes involved in skin aging—including barrier integrity, collagen support, and defense against oxidative stress.

Healthy skin isn’t just about adding moisture.

It’s about helping your skin hold onto it.

I’m 46, but my skin routinely scans closer to a decade younger.

People often assume I have an elaborate skincare routine. The truth? Until I turned 40, I used a basic store-bought moisturizer and sunscreen. That was it.

As a pharmacist, I started asking a different question:

What if healthy skin is built from the inside out?

So I spent years reviewing the scientific literature on skin aging, collagen biology, oxidative stress, the skin barrier, and nutrition. That research ultimately led me to formulate ATIKA.

It isn’t just a collagen supplement. It’s an all-in-one, foundational skin nutrition formula with 18 clinically studied ingredients designed to support the biological processes that influence how skin ages.

It combines:
• Collagen peptides to support skin structure
• Oral ceramides to help strengthen the skin barrier and improve hydration
• Powerful antioxidants and carotenoids that help defend against oxidative stress, including from UV exposure
• Vitamins, minerals, and cofactors that support overall skin function

My routine is intentionally simple:
✓ Daily sunscreen
✓ A basic moisturizer
✓ One daily scoop of foundational skin nutrition

Great skin doesn’t require dozens of products. It requires consistently supporting the biology that keeps skin healthy over time.

If you live in the US and traveling to Europe or Asia, this summer, I would pick up a few tubes of sunscreen with the newer generation filters. They feel better on the skin and they don’t get absorbed systemically. I grabbed just a small sampling 😇

If you’re traveling, I highly recommend stocking up on the newer generation filters available across Europe and Asia. I picked up a couple of tubes :-).

UV reaches your skin in more places than most people realize - and its effects do not necessarily end when you step out of the sun.

Cloud cover, windows, water, and some lightweight fabrics can still leave skin exposed to UV. Once UV reaches the skin, it can contribute to collagen degradation, oxidative stress, inflammatory signaling, and skin barrier disruption.

That is why sun protection is not only about what happens on the surface.

Broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential for reducing UVA and UVB exposure. UPF clothing adds another layer of protection. But healthy, resilient skin also depends on supporting the biological systems that respond to environmental stress.

ATIKA is an all-in-one foundational skin nutrition formula designed to support the underlying processes involved in skin aging. It combines collagen peptides, oral ceramides, antioxidants, and cofactors - to support collagen integrity, antioxidant defenses, hydration, barrier health, even tone, and overall skin vitality.

The full approach, or trifecta of skin protection: SPF + UPF + internal skin nutrition.

Healthy skin starts from within.

You can spend thousands on in-office skin treatments. But if you skip sunscreen and don’t support your skin from within, you’re leaving one of the biggest drivers of skin aging unaddressed.

UV exposure is the leading environmental cause of premature skin aging. It generates oxidative stress that contributes to collagen breakdown, uneven pigmentation, and loss of firmness over time.

My non-negotiables are:

☀️ Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen
🧴 Protective clothing when I’m outdoors
🥤 Internal skin nutrition with antioxidants, oral ceramides, collagen peptides, and other nutrients that help support the skin’s antioxidant defenses, barrier function, and structural integrity.

Whether you’re kitesurfing, surfing, golfing, playing tennis, hiking, or simply spending the day outside, protecting your skin isn’t just about what you put on it — it’s also about how you nourish it.

Healthy skin is built every day, not just in the treatment room.
