During Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, Steve Hubbard — aka Namasteve — stood in front of leaders, advocates, and community members to do more than give a speech.
He created a moment.
Steve spoke about men’s mental health, then guided the room through breathwork — bringing people out of theory and into direct experience.
Because talking about mental health matters.
But giving people a tool they can use in real time?
That’s powerful.
In a space often associated with policy, pressure, and performance, this event brought the conversation back to something deeply human:
The breath.
The nervous system.
The stress men carry.
The silence men often live with.
The need for practical tools, not just awareness.
Steve was joined by DOJO Air cofounder and Chief Science Officer Ira Hayes, continuing DOJO Air’s mission to bring breath training, resilience, and nervous system awareness into spaces where it can make a real impact.
This wasn’t just a wellness moment.
It was breathwork being brought into one of the most important rooms in the country — in service of men’s mental health, emotional regulation, and healing.
Men need more than “tough it out.”
Men need tools.
Men need language.
Men need community.
Men need permission to pause, breathe, and feel.
This event was a reminder that mental health awareness is not just about saying the right things.
It is about creating moments where people can actually experience change.
Comment BREATH if you believe men’s mental health needs more tools like this.
