If you’re looking to just do a passive treatment because your tendon injured - then you’re missing the main part of tendon rehab.

True tendon rehab is not about sitting on a treatment table - it is all about a gradual and structured rehab program designed to build up the tendon so you can best do your activities without limitations or future injuries.

Achilles tendon injury often comes with difficulty elevating heel, which interrupts with gait, running and other activities that require to generate force.

I like to combine weight transfer exercises not just as a strength, but also have the person feel that they can actually use the whole calf complex to propel and push themselves forward - using a heel to toe pattern.

Your Achilles tendon undergoes massive structural shifts across your lifespan.

What built resilience when you were a teenager might actually cause a painful flare-up later in life.

When an Achilles injury strikes, the sudden pain and inability to run, jump, or play your sport isn’t just bad luck—it is a direct result of rapid physiological and biomechanical changes happening deep inside the tissue.

Because the Achilles is highly dynamic, it requires an active, strategic approach to heal. Total rest won’t fix it. Successful rehabilitation must focus on:

🏋️‍♂️ Rebuilding Tissue Capacity: Improving the tendon’s raw tolerance to heavy loads.
🧬 Restoring Stiffness: Turning the tendon back into a crisp, efficient elastic spring.
🏃‍♂️ Gait Retraining & Mobility: Correcting compensatory movement patterns so you don’t overload the joint.
📈 Smart Programming: Tweaking your training volume and addressing past injuries to ensure long-term tendon health and performance longevity.

Real shoulder longevity isn’t built on a massage table or just using light bands. It’s built by progressively restoring your movement and rebuilding structural capacity.

If you want to get back to pain-free lifting, overhead sports, or just daily living without relying on temporary fixes, your rehab needs to be specific and challenging.

Skip the waitlists and doctor referrals. Let’s fix the root cause.

The Answer: It’s actually the LEFT leg - but not for the reason you think.

When you watch this march, your eyes naturally jump to that aggressive hip hike and shift on the left side. It looks like a hip or core stability issue, right?

But this is this case the individual has left Achilles tendinopathy. Because loading that left ankle is painful or lacks structural capacity, the body creates an “escape velocity.” Instead of pushing off the floor using the calf and tendon, the brain recruits the left hip and lower back to physically hoist the pelvis up and get weight off that side as fast as possible.

Sometimes even, when a certain weakness of foot/ankle structures exist, we tend to compensate and overuse our hip that later may lead to pain.

The site of the compensation isn’t always the site of the problem.

Shoulder pain is not uncommon during weightlifting.
More often pushing type exercises like chest press or overhead press are most limited and painful.

Not all shoulder pain during weightlifting are of similar reasons and diagnosis. So a specific evaluation that looks at the shoulder and weightlifting movement analysis is key to understanding what exactly going on.

A painful shoulder comes in many forms - and helping people navigate their shoulder pain and injuries is one of my favorite things to do.

Being the most mobile joint in the body - our shoulder may be a victim of continuous positions such as with computer work or a violent force production during overhead throws.

I created reliable resources to help understand a little more about a shoulder.

Two types of jumps that tell a different story -

Squat Jump: pure explosive power from a dead stop. No momentum, just raw force.

Counter Movement Jump: uses elasticity and energy from a fast transition between positions - like a stretched spring that gets released.

Which one do you think is your strongest? Let me know in the comments

There are many misconceptions about overcoming pain or injury. You’ll see plenty of ‘fancy’ or good-looking techniques - but they are worthless without the real skill: problem-solving.

At its core, physical therapy requires clinical reasoning- understanding the story, gathering data, forming a hypothesis, and executing a plan.

If you’re just getting a checklist of generic/non-specific exercises or 20 minutes of heat and ice, or saw some technique in social media that attracted your eyes - you aren’t getting a solution - you’re getting a placeholder.
True recovery happens when we stop chasing the “fancy” fix and start building a strategy.

Whether you’re trying to stay on the court or just want to move with more confidence, the goal is the same: Increasing your capacity to meet the demands of your life.

One of my favourite variations to challenge grip and shoulder stability.

I dislocated my shoulder around 6-7 months ago and I still working slowly on getting overhead strength.

Upside down kettlebell grip is going to create perturbation to the shoulder and the demand to control unstable weight in an overhead position.
