San Diego Shambhala Meditation Center Community The San Diego Shambhala Meditation Center has been a cornerstone of contemplative practice in Southern California since its establishment in 1985.

Founded by students of the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Shambhala is a global community rooted in the teachings of meditation, mindfulness, and the principle of basic goodness — the understanding that every human being has an innate nature of wisdom, strength, and compassion. Inspired by the teachings of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and further developed by generations of practit

ioners, the Shambhala path invites us to live courageously, to open our hearts, and to engage fully and authentically with the world. At its core, Shambhala offers a vision of creating enlightened society through personal and collective awakening — one moment, one breath, one action at a time.

📅 Every Other Wednesday

🕖 7:00–8:00 PM (Pacific Time)

🎬 Special Extended Film Screening | Wednesday, August 12 • 7:00–9:00 PM

-What can an award-winning film teach us about the causes of suffering—and the path to wisdom?

Join the San Diego Shambhala Meditation Center for a unique five-session online series that combines meditation, Buddhist teachings, and thoughtful discussion inspired by the acclaimed, award-winning Korean film *Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring.*

Through meditation and conversation, we'll explore the Five Kleshas—the habitual mental and emotional patterns that cloud our awareness and contribute to suffering:

🪷 Ignorance

🪷 Attachment (Craving)

🪷 Aversion (Aggression)

🪷 Pride

🪷 Jealousy

Together we'll discover how these patterns arise in our daily lives and how Buddhist practice transforms them into wisdom and compassion.

---

---

🕖 7:00–8:00 PM Pacific Time

Join us this evening for a gentle landing into meditation followed by a conversation on *Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism* by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

This classic text invites us to explore the subtle ways we use spirituality to reinforce rather than release the ego—and how genuine wakefulness begins with honesty, simplicity, and direct experience.

No prior reading is required. Whether you have read the book from beginning to end or are simply curious about the topic, you are warmly welcome.

All are welcome. No cost.

Please join us from wherever you are.
