Toward Maximum Independence

Toward Maximum Independence Serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, & veterans

We are advocates for the belief that disability does not mean inability. We believe that each person has an inherent dignity and unique self-worth. Our long-standing VISION is that all people enjoy full inclusion in the work place, community and society in general. Independence and self-responsibility are fostered by respect for the individualโ€™s autonomy and by empowering the individual to make in

formed decisions. Everyone should have the opportunity to reach their potential competence with opportunities to perform functional and meaningful activities or work with support if needed to promote success. All people we support experience full inclusion in their daily lives in all aspects of community life. We believe that the three cornerstones of a strong life foundation are; living as independently as possible, having the opportunity for real work for real pay, and providing children and young adults with caring family homes with personalized supports.

๐ŸŽช Carnival fun at the TMI Temecula Picnic today! ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธโœจ Our clients stayed busy playing games, earning tickets for prizes, getting temporary tattoos, and enjoying face painting and Bingo!

๐Ÿ• Between the pizza combo lunch and the $3 in "play money" used to buy extra snow cones and treats, nobody went home hungry! ๐Ÿง

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to our amazing community donors for providing the food and prizes: Grocery Outlet, HOPE Food Pantry in Lake Elsinore, Western Eagle, The Village in Hemet, and TMI DSP Terri Brock.

This day wouldn't have been possible without the outstanding team effort from our Temecula staff, visiting helping hands from our Corona team (Tina Quesada, Jeanette DeLuna, and Angelina Rodriguez), and a visit from Frances Johnson. Thank you all! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ“ธ Huge thanks to Ana Provido for sharing these fantastic photos from the day!

True inclusion is a two-way street! โค๏ธ For several years, our wonderful clients, Cassandra, Erin and Karljon, have been volunteering at the City of Murrieta Senior Centerโ€”building vital skills, forming connections, and giving back to the community with the support of their outstanding TMI DSP Robin Harrington. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ‘‡ See how this partnership is transforming lives!

Today, on World Foster Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and limitless potential of every young person in foster care. โœจ

Foster youth bring courage, creativity, and determination to every step of their journey, growing each day toward bright futures filled with possibility and purpose. We also honor the Resource Families who open their hearts and homes, creating safe, supportive spaces where young people feel valued, encouraged, and empowered to succeed. ๐Ÿก โค๏ธ

The three smiley facesโ€”the official symbol of World Foster Day ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Šโ€”represent a youth and their Resource Family coming together in support of family-based care. They serve as a reminder of joy and hope, shining a light on the millions of youth who need loving homes worldwide while honoring the dedicated carers who make a difference every day. ๐ŸŒŸ

At Toward Maximum Independence, we are proud to stand alongside foster youth and the families who support them. Together, we are building stronger, more hopeful futures. ๐Ÿค

We are so grateful for the support of Warren and Susie Loc, owners of the Grocery Outlet in Wi******er! ๐ŸŒŸ

They recently provided a generous in-kind donation for a TMI client meeting. Through our Community Integration Training Program, several of our clients have the opportunity to volunteer at their store, building valuable skills and community ties. โœจ

We can't thank you enough for being a community partner and for the donation! ๐Ÿค

TMI was proud to participate in the 2026 Temecula State of the City Address held today at the Pechanga Resort Casino. Division Manager Andrea Rivera and Quality Assurance Manager Eric Marty were on-site to represent TMI among more than 80 local nonprofits. ๐ŸŒŸ

Mayor Jessica Alexander shared the cityโ€™s latest achievements and future initiatives. Andrea and Eric engaged with community members to discuss the importance of inclusion and intellectual and developmental disability support services in Temecula. ๐Ÿค

A big shout-out goes to Eric for his hard work in setting up the TMI booth! Andrea noted that several visitors stopped by to offer praise for the vital work TMI provides to the community. Great job, TMI team! ๐Ÿ‘

A HUGE THANK YOU to The Clubhouse Indoor Golf World and owner Quentin for hosting a day of virtual golf, soccer, and dodgeball for our Temecula clients! ๐ŸŽฏ

๐ŸŒŸ TMI Direct Support Professional, Kellie Moncrief, proactively organized the event through our Community Integration Training Program. Since her group volunteers at The Clubhouse, it was a fantastic way for our clients to enjoy the facility where they give back!

๐Ÿ™Œ 50+ Clients participated in the virtual sports.

Thank you to the TMI staff who provided the essential support to make this large-scale event possible! โœจ

It was a wonderful day of community connection and pure fun! โค๏ธโœจ

Last Friday we had the privilege of hosting our second event with Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) at The Clubhouse Indoor Golf World, and it was another incredible day.
The group spent the afternoon playing dodgeball, skeeball, soccer, and golf while bringing nonstop energy and excitement to the facility. Watching everyone laugh, compete, and celebrate together is exactly what community is all about and exactly why we built The Clubhouse to be more than just a golf simulator venue.
TMI continues to do amazing work helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build independence, confidence, and meaningful community experiences throughout Southern California. We are proud to partner with an organization making such a real impact.
The best part? They are already scheduling a third event with us, and we couldnโ€™t be more excited to welcome everyone back again soon. โค๏ธโ›ณโšฝ๐ŸŽฏ
