Sharp HealthCare is proud to be a member of the American Society of Transplantation's Living Donor Circle of Excellence program with support from our strategic partner, . The program recognizes companies that have policies in place to support the wages of employees who become living donors, and we are pleased to offer this benefit to our employees.

Sharp employees Christine Brenner and Ruth Duroseau are examples of the impact of living donation. Ruth received the lifesaving gift of a kidney from her co-worker Christine at Sharp Memorial Hospital in December 2025.

"It was just a sense of, 'Wow. What an amazing person who wanted to do this for me," says Ruth. “And I was grateful — very grateful.”

“We want people to have hope,” says Christine.

Ruth and Christine shared their story during April’s Donate Life Month in the hopes of inspiring others to consider becoming a living donor.
