Say hello to Georgia, our first shout out of 2021! Rather than speak for her, let's just let her speak her mind and share her wisdom she has gained in the last few years :)

"My name is georgia (george for short!) I am a fully qualified P1 paramedic working in the northern sector for NSW Ambulance, I have been on road for the last two years working as a front line paramedic and wow, have I learned more life lessons in the last 48 months than I have over my 25 years of life.

When posed the question "what is one thing I've learned as a first responder that everyone should know", the immediate question that comes to my mind is that every person has a cross to bare. We all bare hardships and experience family tribulations during our life time, and you never know what a family is going through behind closed doors. I believe it is imperative to exercise empathy and compassion for everyone, even if they come across as abraisive or cruel, you just never know how heavy the burden is that they are carrying."

All first responders can attest to witnessing all kinds of suffering and hardships, and Georgia's stance on this is spot on. Thank you Georgia for your service to the community, you get our stamp of approval!

While there are plenty of reasons I love being a paramedic, there are also a lot of reasons I hate being a paramedic. Blood, guts, gore... all those things I can handle. But as many paramedics will tell you, this job has significant drawbacks... So take a seat and hear me out on all the reasons why I hate being a paramedic. Some might surprise you!
