HI. Someday soon I will explain my absence from showing up on this platform in order to fully show up for another - my job at . When you invest all of yourself in one area, you may fall short in others - and that’s okay. Thanks to the incredible opportunities I have managing the Peer Advisor department at NOCD, I am able to directly help hundreds of people each week get the kind of help they so deserve. So please don’t ever think my absence here is me giving up on community - it’s my firstborn. Just came on to say 👋🏻 and face the guilt I struggle with when it comes to “Don’t mind if I…don’t.”

doesn’t just talk about the changes we all wish to see in the OCD community - they set an example by showing up through action, FIRST. I know the integrity behind NOCD and every person in it because it continues to blow me away every single day how genuine and selfless the company truly is. Check out this new initiative - it’s brilliant and will help SO many. 👏🏼
For decades, many people with OCD have faced financial hurdles in an attempt to access critical Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy. At NOCD, we’re looking for ways to change that. For the holiday season, we joined forces with the nonprofit group OCD Gamechangers to support the 2021 ERP Scholarship Fund - a fund to provide no-cost treatment for people in need. For every person who signs up for NOCD Therapy by Dec. 31 using our custom link, NOCD will donate $100 to the ERP Therapy Scholarship Fund.

Feature by to kick off -

“It had been one full year of being in college. One full year of being the university’s most fascinating specimen - “The Obsessive Outsider.” One year of being bullied to stay within the walls of my dorm room because I was deemed “demonic,” “schizo” or most commonly - “Crazy Kerry.”

I was broken, battered and obsessed - until I was unknowingly fortunate enough to find myself sitting across from an OCD specialized therapist who used a type of therapy called Exposure and Response Prevention. I had been in three years of therapy with all different therapists and not one of them mentioned “ERP.”

It took consistency. It took determination far past the will I had in any given moment. It took getting angry. It took me intentionally pretending to look up and over the OCD blocking my view of life to even acknowledge that if so many people out there are in OCD Recovery, I could be too.”
