Our first Family Child Care Home to join SDC as a Member School: Arboleda Escuela 💛

This thoughtful mother–daughter led program is beautifully designed with dedicated spaces for sensory play, fine + gross motor development, imaginative play, art, and science. Koraima and Alma create a warm, loving environment where children’s needs are met with genuine care, connection, and intention. 🌿We are honored to be supporting this power duo with our team of Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and SEL Specialists.

There are so many strategies to support language development in children. Recasting strategies work by repeating back and building on the words the child is already saying, here are two of them: Expansion, and Expansion Plus.

When children are upset, or dysregulated, it can be hard for them to regulate. Often, they need our help! To support children in developing the skills necessary to self-regulate, they often need to be taught what options they have! Visuals like a Choice Board are a great tool to organize and display options for children.
