We have approximately 842 opportunities to boost our health every day.

Yes, I made that number up, but it only feels a little like a stretch.

Track your sleep. Increase protein. Reduce stress. Walk more. Lift weights. Cold plunge. Journal. Meditate. Drink electrolytes. Wear the tracker. Ignore the tracker. Listen to your body. Don’t trust your body because hormones.

So I’m curious:
Do you think it’s easier—or harder—to be healthy nowadays?

Women often tell me that they’re tired of feeling like they need a brand-new exercise plan every month.

Here’s part of a recent review:

“I love [Marci’s] approach of getting down to the fundamentals and doing the most effective and complete workout with the least amount of time and equipment.”

That line stood out because getting stronger rarely comes from chasing more complexity. It usually comes from doing enough of the basics long enough to let them work.

Inside The Wonderfulness Community, we train live together four days a week from home (on Zoom, that is). No complicated systems. No starting over every Monday. Just smart workouts, accountability, and women who expect more from midlife.

If you’re tired of constantly searching for the next thing, come join us.

Have you noticed how health can start to feel like a never-ending renovation project?

Another app. Another tracker. Another challenge. Another “missing piece.”

Many women assume they’re struggling because they aren’t disciplined enough. But what if you’re exactly where the system trained you to be—always searching, never quite arriving?

I wrote about this in my latest article: “Congratulations. You've Been Successfully Outsourced.”

Many women over 40 think they need a more advanced workout, a better plan, or some new approach they haven’t discovered yet.

But sometimes the problem isn’t lack of information. It’s lack of repetition.

Pick a few basic movements. Squat. Push. Pull. Carry. Repeat them often enough that your body actually gets the chance to adapt.

You don’t need to keep searching. You need enough challenge and enough consistency for it to work.

That’s exactly why I created my free 8-minute workout. No complicated system. No equipment maze. Just a realistic way to begin building strength at home.

One reason women struggle to stay consistent with exercise is because they keep waiting to feel fully ready.

You know the drill. You want to be: more rested, less stressed, more motivated, have a better schedule with fewer tabs open in your brain.

But strength doesn’t need readiness. It needs repetition.

That’s why short, repeatable workouts can be surprisingly powerful after 40. They lower the barrier to starting while still giving your body the challenge it needs to stay strong and capable.

My free 8-minute workout was designed specifically for women who are tired of the all-or-nothing fitness cycle.

One thing I hear repeatedly from women inside The Wonderfulness Community is that consistency gets easier once they stop trying to do all of this alone.

Here’s part of a recent review:
“It’s a live session I can join from home. It’s just the right amount of accountability to keep me doing the workouts 4x per week.”

Most women don’t need more guilt or pressure. They need more structure, support, and regularity. Inside TWC, we train together live from home four days a week. Simple workouts. Smart programming. Real support from women who expect more from midlife.

Are you trying to “find the motivation” to exercise consistently?

I don’t think motivation is the real issue.

There are plenty of things we do regularly without feeling motivated because there’s a built-in consequence if we don’t. Work. Appointments. Paying bills. But strength training is easy to postpone because the consequences feel far away.

You don’t suddenly lose all your strength overnight. Your energy doesn’t collapse after missing one Tuesday. Life just keeps moving.

The tricky part is that over time, the skipped workouts do add up. Your energy drops; everyday things feel harder; and strength declines little by little.

That’s why motivation alone usually isn’t enough. The women who stay consistent tend to create systems and routines that make showing up more automatic and less negotiable.

I wrote more about this in this week’s article: “You Don’t Need Motivation. You Need Consequences.”

I use ChatGPT to help me flesh out ideas for articles and posts and it mentioned something about how I dress, so I asked it to describe my style. It replied:

-mid-60s international jet set
-arty European widow with excellent luggage
-Catherine Deneuve in daylight
-Milan/SF/gallery/jazz-club energy
-elegance with movement
-glamour that can still sit cross-legged on a couch

ChatGPT is my new best friend. (The widow thing is odd, though. Sorry, Aaron.)

One reason women struggle to stay consistent with exercise is because they keep trying to start with the “ideal” version of fitness. This requires: more time, more energy, more motivation, and more discipline.

In other words, you need a full personality overhaul by Monday morning. But consistency usually comes from making things easier to repeat—not harder to begin.

That’s why I created the free 8-minute workout for women 40+. It’s short enough to stop negotiating with yourself and effective enough to actually help you build strength over time.

Because the goal isn’t proving how motivated you are. It’s creating a version of exercise you’ll continue doing.
