Welcome to DoFA’s Pagsulong Circle 2026!
This gathering was born from a desire to move with—rather than simply study—the stories and complexities of our community. While this event was originally framed as a traditional Grand Rounds, we recognized the limitations of that format. Rooted in a medical model that can often center hierarchy and clinical detachment, Grand Rounds didn’t fully reflect the values we hold close: shared humanity, cultural nuance, and community care.
So we shifted. Pagsulong—a Tagalog word meaning “movement,” “progress,” and “advancement”—became both our guide and our name. This is not just a case presentation. This is a circle: a space we intentionally reimagined to deconstruct power, decenter authority, and make room for the lived realities of Filipinx Americans in clinical practice. Here, we invite you into collective reflection, dialogue, and healing as we sit with the emotional, cultural, and clinical layers of Filipinx American psychotherapy.
I NTENDED AUDIENCE & ATTENDEES:
Psychologists, marriage family therapists, clinical social workers, psychiatrists, and mental health professionals who work with Filipinx patients, families, and communities.
Clinicians and mental health professionals who provide psychotherapy services
