Have weeknight dinners become a struggle?

If planning, prepping and cooking healthy dinners during the week has become more challenging, I think I found an answer!

I recently tried , a Silicon Valley meal delivery service started by 2 working moms who wanted to make dinner easier.

Locally sourced ingredients, minimal prep (ie turn the oven on and put it in or place in the microwave- something we can all handle!) and menu options that can feed the whole family such as kebabs, lasagna, brisket, multiple sides and the absolute best homemade chocolate cookies šŸ˜€

Currently they deliver to multiple areas in the South Bay Area and you can check their website to see if they cover your zip code!

If you guys have questions put them in the comments or message me and happy to answer!

When you set in motion a ban on reproductive choice you set in motion a precedent that the government can dictate our reproductive freedoms.

This is ultimately not about abortions.

It’s about having control over your body.

How much of your reproductive rights are you willing to give up?

Healthcare should be between a woman and her physician.

Period.

The potential overturning of Roe vs Wade marks a new (old) era where politicians have control over a female’s body.

Name one aspect of a man’s reproductive health that is controlled by politicians?
It’s ok,
I’ll wait.

How do you reduce the stigma about infertility?

We talk about it.

Infertility can certainly feel isolating but this is and we are talking all about infertility.

1 in 8 couples are affected with infertility.
1 in 4 women suffer from miscarriages.

And I can’t begin to tell you how many people come to see me and mention how we should have learned so much more about our reproductive health than what we learn in school.

So let’s talk about the basics of infertility!

Questions?! šŸ‘‡šŸ½šŸ‘‡šŸ½

1 in 8 couples have infertility.
It is more common that you think.
You are not alone on this journey.
You did not cause infertility.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines infertility as a disease of the male or female reproductive tract characterized by the inability to conceive after 12 or more months of regular in*******se.

So infertility is not something you caused.
It’s not because you aren’t ā€œtrying hard enough.ā€
It’s a medical diagnosis that may require treatment.

This week my goal is to empower those patients going through their family building journey and to educate those looking for information.

I am really excited for this conversation!

Join me with and former Spring patient, , next Wednesday the 27th at 3PT/6ET for an intimate discussion on all things fertility. We will be discussing Sydel’s own fertility journey, how to best advocate for your care and mental health, and how fertility impacts women of color. You won’t want to miss this - be sure to set a reminder on your calendar!

Unexplained infertility can be incredibly frustrating.

But, I always want to remind patients that our reproductive biology, fertilization and implantation are incredibly complex.

And just because we don’t have a specific test to pinpoint the cause of infertility doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

A diagnosis of unexplained infertility does not mean you need to go down the path of non-evidence based testing or treatment.

It doesn’t mean you aren’t trying ā€œhard enough.ā€

Treatment, whether it’s with ovulation medications and IUI or IVF, are the recommended first line treatment depending on female age and family size goals.

Check out the link in the bio for an article on unexplained infertility and treatment options!

I write this because I have had patients ask me what they did wrong if their cycle didn’t go as expected or hoped for.

And I always tell them they did nothing wrong.

An unsuccessful fertility treatment can be heartbreaking and stressful. It can cause the mind to wonder if treatment will ever work.

And while no one can guarantee fertility treatment will work, one unsuccessful outcome does not mean you can’t ultimately have success in this process.

So no you did not ā€œfailā€ your cycle.
( And I don’t like using the word failed because it makes it sound like the patient did something to cause the cycle not to work)

The cycle that didn’t work is giving us information to continue to fine tune what may work best for you and your body.
