Chai Sui—a.k.a.—BBQ Pork. Delicious on its own, but usually too much in large amounts. I actually like the burnt parts, but know that might be carcinogenic. I am eating more veggies since I entered a year-long program with a health coach. That program ends next week and I will go forth from her teachings and what I learned from the support group. I had a goal, and for the most part, I achieved it. My recent check up in May went well; BP 114/73 (and no meds) and I have lost 6 lbs during the pandemic. I have increased my non-starch veggies by 20%. I am feeling strong and healthy (hope that can last, especially since I am in that endangered age group) I am drinking more wine than ever, fortunately some pretty fine stuff. I don’t deprive myself of treats (desserts, baguettes, or chai sui), I just meter how much and when I can have them. These are the toughest times anyone can ever imagine to be living through. I am hoping that we can navigate it successfully and get to the other side of the curve in the best shape possible. Peace, balance, and positivity to all my sisters and brothers. Enough Tea & Coffee: A place of delicious drinks. Serious espresso beverages for the discriminating palate...but even better is the fun conversation that balances out the sometimes harsh urban environment. (Photo by Wilfred Wong, March 7, 2018, San Francisco, CA) .

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 Taking inventory of life and keeping the individual parts distinct and not muddled. On this morning, I am grateful for being alive and staying focused on opening up my heart to those closest to me as well as those far away—in all respects: beliefs, stature, and conditions. Life always has its ups and downs, and that will never change. Yet we can all go forward and be just a bit better than the day before. I have before me my journal and tasting index (I also have a structural index, not in the picture). My breakfast has healthy elements and my coffee is perfect. While many people opt to make their New Year’s resolutions, I am eschewing that tradition and say make every day a new day and conquer the world. My darlings: Alice is ahead of our gal Kaili and me. Kaili is keeping her eyes 👀 on Alice—they are inseparable during the day. I am just grateful being with them and enjoying this quality time together. Yes, we all got soaked to the core in a brief downpour ☔️. Yet, this was a good 🙂moment and one that we could laugh about. Later today we received some difficult news about a close friend, and now we are praying for her to pull through. This recent event just goes to show how precious life is, and that we can never take anything for granted. On this Christmas Eve, our hearts are heavy and anxious. Perhaps, this is a good moment for each of us to reach out for someone who love a simple, “Hi, I was just thinking of you!” Happy Holidays to all of you! A toast to friendship. My life is richer—not because of material goods—but because of people whom I love and respect. Love always goes with respect because neither can exist without the other. This was a feel good moment with two cool friends—who also happen to great co-workers too. From my darling Alice 👩🏻 our gal Kaili 🐶 and to my buds in the wine and food business, my life is overflowing with the best of all worlds. Wilfred’s Morning Cappuccino Philosophy #3 Living Life in 3s. Life runs—sometimes fast, sometimes too fast, and then it slows to a crawl, but seldom does life do this in an orderly way. I have gathered a lot of moments and data in years on earth, and it has now come to this. A distillation into thirds: Life, people, and wines. I am now putting everything into those three buckets. I started my photography in the fall of 2002 and have put together albums of each of those years (2002-2018), and even have gone back to the 1960s with photos others have taken and documents from our family’s memory archieves. In my life albums, I re-visited places I have been, foods I have savored, and artsy objects I have photographed. In my people albums, I am remembering good, bad, and ugly people—some memories are happy, some sad, some merely interesting. In my wines album, I have am able to see where I started and where I am today. Happy Morning to you all. (Photo by Wilfred Wong, April 24, 2018, San Francisco, CA)

Wilfred’s Morning Cappuccino Philosophy #1. Does morning begin with a thought-provoking or does it start with two ? Life is like working out. You breakdown your muscles only to have them rebuild themselves, and only in that way will they become stronger. As I continue to live my 67 years on earth, I am more of the mind that one must always face life’s challenges head-on. Avoidance is our worse enemy and never gets us to where we need to be. Does the AM begin a cap or an egg? Neither, life began long before anyone of us was born. Let’s take on life with energy, positivity, and sustainable goals. Enjoy your day! (Photo by Wilfred Wong, April 5, 2018, San Francisco, CA) BTW, I love writing in the morning, this spot is so inspirational!

It was just me and my in the corner. Sometimes these moments are just a few seconds , other times, they are minutes that seem like hours. The time duration is of little consequence, it is the moment that counts and what your inner soul was able to uncover. I was actually with some friends after a wine tasting—go figure—and just wanted a moment of solace before returning to the conversation. (Photo by Wilfred Wong, March 27, 2018, San Francisco, CA)
